Christopher Lee is to star in ‘Triage’, directed by the Oscar winning filmmaker Danis Tanovic (No Man’s Land, 11 Sepetember), who has also written the adapted screenplay from the Scott Anderson’s novel. Mr. Lee plays the part of Joaquin, a notable retired psychiatrist who was at the service of Franco’s regime, just after the Spanish Civil War. His granddaughter, Elena, is being played by Spanish Actress Paz Vega (Lucia y el Sexo, Spanglish). Colin Farrell plays the part Elena’s boyfriend, a photographer in need of psychiatric help. Production starts next week at Ciudad de La Luz Studios in Almeria, the largest studios in Europe and will continue in Ireland. The movie is an Irish/French/Spanish production and will debut at the Cannes Film Festival. |

Can't wait for this! Thanks for letting us know!
But this project really is different. It's a serious drama, it's a huge, challening part and it has a meaningful message about the cruelty of war, personal tragedies and forgiveness. From that point of view, this is the most interesting role for Mr. Lee since "Jinnah".
As I said in another thread, I'm sure that this film will be shown in cinemas all around the world, many festivals and probably win some awards.
I ordered the novel on which this film is based on and I'm looking forward to the book and the film.
I might add a little correction of the information given by Juan: the current distributor plans to start selling film right at the Cannes festival market this May, but don't expect the film to be completed by then.
