Question New Film with Mr. Lee?

I found this bit of an article about an actress named 'Romola Garai' mentioning that she is involved in a production (by director) "Stephen Poliakoff's film 1939". The article mentions Mr. Lee as participating?

Based on their brief description of the film; Mr. Lee's participation would be anticipated; however is there any validity to this report?

If you have the time and are interested, here is the link: (Scan down to section titled: No peace for Romola):

Thank You for your help.
Cheers,
Helen

Re: New Film with Mr. Lee?

I read about this film yesterday, an now look at this:

A BBC press release from today confirms that Mr. Lee is indeed part of it:
BBC - Press Office - Poliakoff's feature film 1939 starts shooting

statement from the Director of "1939":

"It is truly thrilling to be making it with such a tremendous cast which combines some of the most exciting young talent in the country including Romola Garai, Eddie Redmayne, Juno Temple, Charlie Cox and David Tennant with such great names of the British film industry as Bill Nighy, Julie Christie, and Christopher Lee."

Re: New Film with Mr. Lee?

Steve, Thank You for finding that information and sharing it!

I also found another article (from October 17th) that said they were casting extras (that week) down in Norfolk. That would have been interesting..........

Cheers,
Helen

Thumbs up Re: New Film with Mr. Lee?

This sounds very exciting. The BBC adaptions of his work were wonderful. The cast list looks very impressive. I look forward to it.
All the best.

It will be released on the big screen, so there is a fair chance to see it in Germany, too. ;) I always thought about Mr. Lees career and all the work he has done. And I still think he did simply everything, except a real DRAMA. And now with this film and of course Triage, I still can“t beleave it, he has the opportunity to show his full "acting qualities".
