Question LOTR Concert in Germany?

Hello everyone,

Luzmila has found a link to an article which seems to announce a "Lord of the Rings" concert in Hamburg, Germany. Unfortunately for both of us, the article is written in German and so we are unable to work out whether or not the concert has already taken place. The translator hasn't helped much either. However, it does seem that Mr Lee is involved with this project.

If any of our German-speaking friends here has the time and would be so kind as to read the article to find out what it actually says, we would be most grateful. Here is a link to the article: http://www.lifepr.de/pressemeldungen...xid-28848.html. Many thanks in advance for your time and assistance on this question. Take care and all the best:

Warmest regards,

Andrés

Re: LOTR Concert in Germany?

It seems that the concert is a 'live' event with the Tolkien Ensemble and Philharmonic Orchestra and choir (over 100 participants in the concert). Although the article mentions Mr. Lee narrating the journey through Middle Earth, it also says he will not be present?..(However, the first article from Andres seemed to indicate that Mr. Lee would be there....So the question becomes, was Mr. Lee recorded for this concert....... The concert is on 25 February 2008 at 8pm. Following is a link I found for the date of the concert...There may be more....

Here is the link...

Smile Re: LOTR Concert in Germany?

Hello again,

Many thanks for your reply to this, Helen, and for seeking out more information about the concert. I am rather confused on that part about Mr Lee providing the narration but not being there, and had also considered that the organisers might be using a recording, as I believe has happened in the past with other concerts. Thank you for finding a date for the concert as well, as that was one of the things we wanted to know. February 25th puts it on the eve of my birthday, which is interesting. It's unfortunate that, so far, there are no articles about this in English, but I think that, with your help Helen, we have a lot more understanding of this news. I'm sure that this will be a wonderful concert, and Hamburg is a beautiful part of Germany. Our thanks again. Take care everyone:

Warmest regards,

Andrés

Re: LOTR Concert in Germany?

Hello Andrès,

I just read the article...but I am too late, Helen was quicker, LOL!

I agree with her, after reading the first article, I thought Mr Lee would be there, but the second one, Helen posted the link here, says very clear, that he WON´T be in Hamburg! What a shame it would have been lovely. Although Hamburg is very far from me, my sister-in-law lives there and would have been a good reason for a nice visit, haha. Maybe we should watch that - if we are lucky, Mr Lee will appear? Maybe anyone knows more about it? Mr Lee in Germany - that would be fantastic!!!

Love from Daniela

Re: LOTR Concert in Germany?

Mr. Lee is not scheduled for doing any concerts in Germany this year. He is however provisionally scheduled for Oporto, Paris and Rome, subject to his availability.

Re: LOTR Concert in Germany?

Thank you Juan, for the information - certainly no good news for me and the other German fans, but better to know it now before we go on hoping and waiting.

Well, Mr. Lee can`t be everywhere, I understand that. Maybe we(the Germans) are lucky to see him in Germany next year. You never know...

Best wishes,
Daniela

Re: LOTR Concert in Germany?

Lo que se vio en el concierto era un video de Christopher Lee. Es lo logro entender con ayuda del traductor en diferentes webs.

En esta web hay publicidad al abrir el enlace pero no es nada malo; pero para mayor comodidad voy a copiar lo más importante:

Re: LOTR Concert in Germany?

Hace pocos días se podía abrir el enlace. Hoy al querer abrir dice que hay error. Por suerte la información lo logré copiar en word:
Klänge der Magie
Von Tom Bullmann
Osnabrück.

http://www.neue-oz.de/information/no.../18754403.html
