Question Tim Burton - Alice in Wonderland

Now as the first casting rumors started, I thought we should discuss, too.

Do you think Chris will get a role ? And which character should he play ?

Mia Wasikowska - "Alice"
Johnny Depp - “The Mad Hatter”

Re: Tim Burton - Alice in Wonderland

Oooh....goody! I started a thread like this awhile back! (Great minds think alike I guess ^_^)

I think he would make a great Caterpillar...but I REALLY would love to see him play The Mock Turtle or The Gryphon (so he has a chance to sing :) )

And btw...I DEF. think Tim will cast him. They have become quite close (Mr. Lee just recoreded an audio reading of one of his poems for the NIGHTMARE BEFORE CHRISTMAS DVD release). Plus...after what happened to his role is SWEENEY TODD...

Exciting isn't it!
I do hope he gets a part. As you say Josh, the Gryphon would be a good role for Mr Lee.

THE CAST (so far)..Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland

Well, there have been a few more casting announcements on Tim Burton's latest project!

Alice- Mia Wasikowska (Article)

The Mad Hatter- Johnny Depp (Article)

Tweedledee/Tweedledum- Matt Lucas (Article)

Gahh!!! This is getting sooo suspensful! I want to know who's playing my favorite characters! I am almost certain Helena will get a role (she's wonderful), but I'd like to know which one.

And has anyone heard anything else about this film? I know I'm pathetic, but I'd love for Mr. Burton to find something for Mr. Lee in this film. There are sooo many characters!

If he's smart, Tim will get Mr. Lee a part.

Re: Tim Burton - Alice in Wonderland

I think he would be great as the gryphon and to be given an opportunity to sing would be wonderful. Mr Lee has a greaat voice and more of us should have the opportunity to share it.

Re: Tim Burton - Alice in Wonderland

Btw, Don B, the film starts out live action, but when "ALICE" falls down the rabbit hole, the movie becomes "motion capture".

So, if Mr. Lee does indeed voice someone, he will not only be voicing, but his face and movements will be digitally recorded and added to the animated character.

This same technique was used in the recent film "Beowulf", as well as "The Polar Express".

Fascinating stuff...and I bet'd be quite an experience as an actor.

Mr. Lee will be in this movie but confidentiality agreements prevent me from disclosing his character. I guess we will have to all wait for an official announcement from Disney but I think you all know what the character will be anyway.

Great news Juan but the guessing game will go one until the character is confirmed.

TERRIFIC news!
I look forward to the release. Very exciting. With Johnny Depp in a major role also, this should be well worth waiting for.
