Re: Hey Everyone...I'm Sorry :-(
Because I could not stop for Death,
He kindly stopped for me;
The carriage held but just ourselves
And Immortality.
We slowly drove, he knew no haste,
And I had put away
My labor, and my leisure too,
For his civility. (Emily Dickinson)
Josh, I think we all know that our busy lives often supercede our personal choices. I dropped off the board for several years for a number of reasons:
1. I was on the tenure track, and I just got tenure this year.
2. I have been busy in my personal life with health issues (pancreatitis caused by gallstones) and a 55 yr old boyfriend with terminal cancer.
Sometimes, things of this nature are simply overwhelming; even the most mundane things can do it. Jobs, children, and other issues seem to engulf all of us. As Dickinson reminds us, it's good to stop and smell the roses, before they are on top of our coffins and we can't smell them anymore. After my close brush with death this year, I learned that the hard way! So--no sweat!

In Imladris did Elrond
A stately star dome decree:
Where Bruin, the sacred river, ran
Through Rivendell measureless to man
Down to the Havens and the sea. ...
But oh! that deep romantic chasm slanted
Down the green hill athwart a cedarn cover!
A wondrous place! as holy and enchanted
As e'er beneath a waning people was haunted
By handmaidens wailing for their Elvish lover!
