Smile "The Man Who Could Cheat Death"

I just watched the new DVD of "The Man Who Could Cheat Death" from Legend Films. It is a fantastic disc. The print is very nice with some vivid color photography. I had only seen this movie once before (either on HBO or CineMax, I don't remember which), so it was nice seeing it again. Anton Diffring is quite good in the title role and the late Hazel Court is as lovely as ever. Mr. Lee is also good as Dr. Gerrard, blackmailed by Diffring to perform the operation to save his life. This is a Region 1 DVD and I believe is available only from Best Buy (along with "The Deadly Bees", "The Skull" and "The Possession of Joel Delany"). Sadly, there are NO bonus features whatsoever (not even a trailer), but it is still nice having this fine minor Hammer film on DVD at last. All fans of Mr. Lee must get this disc. (It was only $9.99, too.)

Thumbs up Re: "The Man Who Could Cheat Death"

Thanks for that George. I will have to see about purchasing it soon. I haven't seen this film in a long time, and don't have much memory of it, but I am sure it will be of interest to me.
Thanks again.

Re: "The Man Who Could Cheat Death"

I have it on order and I'm eagerly awaiting the day it lands in my letterbox.
With The Skull, The Gorgon, The Man Who Could Cheat Death, Scream Of Fear etc. this is proving an excellent year for fans of Christopher Lee & classic horror.

Good morning to you Matt. Can you tell me... is The Scream of Fear, the US title for Taste of Fear.

Yes it is. Taste is a better title in my opinion but scream fitted with the American poster camaign which featured a shot of Susan Strasberg screaming.
