Just had a look at the cape, thanks to your link Helen. What I would give to own that piece of movie history.
As for the element of doubt as to it's originality, ie; collar looking to big, we must bare in mind that the cape is draped over, a not very convincing stand. I think if you could imagine Mr Lees frame inhabiting it, it would be a much more padded out and snug fit.
The hem line may possibly have changed over the years, due to over use, as their are, I'm sure many people who are not of the same formidible build as Mr Lee.
Can't believe it has gone unoticed for this many years in a fancy dress shop though.

Wonder if my lottery numbers will come up before April.
