I attended the Glasgow screening last night with my son and daughter whilst my wife stayed at home fending off the local trick or treating kids.
Fist of all seeing the poster in the foyer gave me chills . Then to my delight the cinema was almost sold out. There must have only been a handfull of seats left.
The print looked terrific, as if it was made yesterday. When it started and James Bernards theme burst out from the speakers the audience applauded ( very rare in Scottish cinemas )
I won't go into a review of the film as I would be here all day. Suffice to say that it's a true classic and has stood the test of time admirably.
Seeing it in a restored version brought home the enormous talents of the lighting operators and camera crew. The colours were richer than I've ever seen them. The sound was also much improved .
When it finished the audience again applauded and it was wonderful to hear so many admiring comments from old and young alike .
Quite simply, the best Halloween ever !

ps. The usher told me that it was the busiest screen by far and Cineworld has 12.
