Mr. Lee and the Tolkien Ensemble

Hi Everyone,

A long time ago I wrote a review on Mr. Lee's participation with the Tolkien Ensemble in the making of; At Dawn in Rivendell; Selected songs and poems from the Lord of the Rings.
Mr. Lee sang the part of Treebeard; and read several poems...
The CD is absolutely wonderful...

While roaming about in cyberspace, I found that Mr. Lee had performed in concert with the Tolkien Ensemble on 25 June 2007; at the Citadel Music Festival; Das Berliner Sommer OpenAir....
The concert was entitled: Herr der Ringe.....

It must have been a lovely concert to attend....

Well you certainly know how to find news around the internet.
I do have one small little thing I would like to share whitout starting a new topic.
Swedish Radio has every year the whole summer a series of programs with celebraties
having their own radio broadcast and talking about themselfes or what ever they want to and they do this all on their own and they select music etc. On august 5th actress
Maud Adams had her broadcast and she mentioned of course The Man with the Golden Gun. Plus Mr Lee. She said they have talks on the phone and during one conversation Mr Lee has said: "But Maud I'm an old man now". Not very convincing she said.
Mr Lee always ask she said how her mother Tyra is doing and if she has been to Luleà recently. Great program unfortunatly not availble in english.

Indeed not very convincing...as we all know how busy Mr. Lee is working on various projects

The Lord of the Rings concert with Mr. Lee and the Tolkien Ensemble in Berlin was with certainty as wonderful as the concert in Klagenfurt in Austria on 23rd June, which I visited. Here some pics.

Joakim, It is wonderful that you have available to you that special type of station!

Conny, Thank you for sharing the pictures! And on that note....Shame on you for not telling us about the concert sooner!

I hope you will write a bit on how the concert was....Did Mr. Lee sing 'Treebeard'? Did he read some of the poems?

Joakim, I adore to know these things on the artists... the as they communicate out of the works that do together... I like to know who is friend of who and everything more.

Maud Adams is all right when she affirms that our idol doesn't convince anything, anything, that it is old...

" She is wise woman, besides beautiful."

Helen, I begin to think that Conny is shy. But she is like this... very kind same, I feel her as good a friend, even without to see personally.

I agree with you Conny, Helen always finds a lot of innovations for us, she is becoming an expert in this.

Since we are on the subject of Mr. Lee and his collaborations with The Tolkien Ensemble......

Mr. Lee participated in 2 of the 4 Lord of the Rings CD's (by The Tolkien Ensemble)....

Dawn at Rivendell was the first collaboration and the second was Leaving Rivendell.......

Lovely albums....

I found this website that has a bit of an excerpt from the album Leaving Rivendell, it is from the track: The Riddle of the Strider (which is a poem from JRR Tolkien's The Fellowship of the Ring)

This track features Mr. Lee reciting the poem...It is wonderful to listen to...

The 4 CD Set The Tolkien Ensemble and Christopher Lee, complete songs and poems from The Lord of the Rings is wonderful music, especially the parts sung/recited by Mr. Lee
