Rep Power: 0 | Christopher in I MONSTER
In the light of the recent revival of interest in the Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde story with the BBC series JEKYLL, I am reminded of that other brilliant movie that starred Christopher as a Jekyll-type character, I MONSTER.
This was one of my all-time fave movies of the seventies, and I thought that Christopher played the dual parts of Marlowe/Blake magnificently!
Does anybody know if I MONSTER is available on DVD anywhere in the UK? Would love to add it to my collection.
Thanks.

Hi Alan,
This is a link for a copy of I`Monster region 2: http://www.amazon.co.uk/I-Monster-Pe...5856768&sr=1-2
The Only problem is that I`ve been informed that it is only in 4:3 ratio. If you do buy it and it`s in 1.85:1 ratio, can you let me know. Thanks. Mark

What is picture quality like. I own the Image Entertainment region 1 version and the quality is worse than the copy that I recorded off the TV onto video years ago.
Regards

Mark | I've only glanced at it, but the newly released UK widescreen DVD definitely looked better than the non-anamorphic region 1 verson.

MY copy of the film was purchased from Amazon, in the USA and the quality is wonderful. The film is also one of my favourites. Mr Lee is wonderful and so it Peter Cushing. It is a good telling of the story. Mr Lee is in another version of the story called Two faces of Dr Jeckyll with Oliver Reed . He plays an entirely different character in it . It is also a very good film Kaitlin

Rep Power: 25 | Re: Christopher in I MONSTER I agree Kaitlin. Mr. Lee is wonderful in this film. Dr. Marlowe and Dr. Blade (?) are they acted perfectly. The character "monster" makes to think me: " How a person to act like this? "?" It is incredible! I took a long time to get the film, finally I bought a VHS (committed for the time). But at least it possesses subtitles in Portuguese.
I also have The Two Faces of Dr. Jeckyl. Mr. Lee as Paul Allen was really different from the usual. I adore to see Mr. Lee in this character. And that snake that appears on him??? It was not real as the spider that was in Henry Baskervilles's shoulder?

Yes they are both excellent movies and luckily I have them both in one format or another. Christopher Lee is exceptional in both and shows what a real talent he is. I`Monster in my oppinion is arquably the best version of Jekyll and Hyde that I`ve seen. By the way Kaitlin is your copy the Image Entertainment release, if so it`s very curious about the quality of the one that I have, it is really dire. I wonder if I should send it back.

Hi Mark, no my copy is from a company called Retromedia, they have copies of several of Mr Lee's films and so far they have all been good. Where did you get your copy of Two Faces of Dr Jeckyll, I would love to have that one and can't find it here Kaitlin.

I would love a copy but that could get you into so much trouble with the copyright laws in this country I could never ask you to do it. Thank you so very much for the offer though it was really sweet Kaitlin

I have this movie, but my bad, it is italian dubbed and theres a melody in the beginning of it, can somebody please tell me who is the composer? I know the original one, but maybe there is somebody who saw it in italian?
Thank you in advance! Cheers
