Hi Everyone,

I know that Greyfriar's Bobby on DVD has been available in the UK for a bit now..............

But great news for those of us 'across the pond', Amazon.com and a number of other sites now carry the DVD here in the USA! So for those of you who are interested...here are a few sites...(.there are a number more, if you want to surf around!)

This film is in my list, but as it is relatively new, I will wait for a little to see if they throw DVD also in Portuguese. But I won't wait for a long time..

I can't wait to see this one I saw the original when I was little, wound up crying buckets, Or course I loose it after the first two bars of born free when that film is on. Animal movies really get to me. The discription of Mr Lee performance sounds wonderful should be a great film. kaity

Finally I had opportunity to see the film yesterday the night. I liked the history a lot, of the scenery, of the characters, of the dog (soft) and, Mr. Lee was splendid in his character. Congratulations Mr. Lee.

I haven't seen this version yet.... partly because I know the story very well, and remember seeing the original many years ago, being an animal lover, and a coward, I just know I will be blubbing by the end. Any sad story involving animals, especially a shaggy dog story, is bound to set me off.
Maybe I will pluck up the courage and buy the DVD soon.

Thanks for all the info Helen I have been thiking of watching this movie. But my reasons our the same as Steves. Even though I know the story very well. Since I was little. But I must admit knowing that. Mr. Lee is in it does make it sound really good. The story is great but just way to sad for me.

Me too, Steve. I'm exactly the same. I even get upset when King Kong falls off the Empire State building!

I don't know if I'll ever get around to seeing this version. Being a dog owner it's just too sad.Anytime I'm in Edinburgh I've managed to steer clear of the statue of Bobby for the same reason.

Hey, Stuart... King Kong is one of my all time top ten films (The Original). I do have Peter Jackson's remake on dvd, which I think is excellent and much more sympathetic to Kong. I think that his realisation of Kong on screen, emotionally and physically, is superb, and I too, always have a tear in my eye at the end.
I reckon I'm turning into a right soppy old so'n'so.
I'm going to bite the bullet now, and send for "Greyfriers Bobby" on dvd. I'll have to add it to my Christopher Lee collection.

I haven't seen this film yet. But when the story is so sad, I would need more than one handkerchief during watching. Thanks for the warning. Nevertheless I put it on my list.

Well... I plucked up the courage... and watched Greyfriers Bobby on dvd this very night. (Sunday). I felt It took a bit of time to get going, but as it progressed, I did enjoy it, and yes... particular scenes, did bring a lump to my throat. And the appearance of Mr Lee was certainly worth waiting for.... the build up to the appearance of his character, was very effective, I thought.
