Hello everyone,
I don't know whether this was ever covered here in the English forums, but I do know that it was in Spanish forums, by member María Covadonga Mendoza Abad when this could still be called "news". The link to what she wrote is http://christopherleeweb.com/forums/...ad.php?t=61336. Basically, it says that the "Festival Du Film Fantastique" were organising an "hommage" or tribute to Mr Lee in Gerardmer, France, on 30th January, 2004 in honour of his contribution to world cinema. Apparently, as part of this celebration, the organisers screened a selection of films which Mr Lee worked in, including Jinnah. The other films were: The Wicker Man; Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones; The Man With the Golden Gun; The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring; and The Four Musketeers.
You may well be asking yourselves "Why is he telling us about this now?" The answer is that I was running a search on Mr Lee for a completely different reason altogether, and I came across three video clip files of this event. One is of Mr Lee speaking at a press conference, and the other two are of the tribute itself, showing Mr Lee being introduced and then addressing the audience. The direct links to these are as follows: http://www.gerardmer-fantasticart.co...pher%20Lee.wmv http://www.gerardmer-fantasticart.co...topherLee1.wmv http://www.gerardmer-fantasticart.co...her%20Lee2.wmv.
The files are in windows media player format. They can also be found on this webpage: http://www.gerardmer-fantasticart.co.../jeu_actus.htm. I should also say that they are in French.
I hope you find the clips interesting, and apologies if they have been posted before on a previous thread. I ran a search which only brought up the Spanish forum post, so I thought I would add a thread here as well. Anyway, take care everyone, and enjoy:
Warmest regards,
Andrés

Observation: The people say Italian and descending your always speak moving and gesticulating the your hands. Then Mr. Lee is a true copy of this.

I certainly use my hands when I'm trying to explain something complicated (and although I was born in London, my parents are Spanish, which makes me... Spanglish? I suppose). I love listening to Mr Lee speaking in French, and I can follow quite a bit of it as I studied French at school. This is really one for Georges Nahon, who is our French speaker amongst the CLW members! Perhaps if he listens to it, he might write an email to me with a summary... Oui, s'il vous plait, mon ami?! Merci beaucoup! Take care everyone:
Warmest regards,
Andrés

Warmest regards,
Andrés | Andrés, me with a couple descent of Italians and with a small French part (Alves - it was marriage name), my last name (Capellari Forlin), well, but I gesticulate enough with the hands.
There was a fact which my work friends always remember: while I gave class for my small students the 4th years old, and it explained the content, I also gesticulated a lot raising the hands and the arms well for here and for there, trying to give life to my explanation. There was a next dog the door of my classroom and, according to my friends, while I explained the content of the class, the dog accompanied my movements with the head (that is graced when the people imitate the dog).
Result: the other day the dog got again to enter in the dependences of the school and it went to my door again (none of the students was owner of the dog).
Will this be thing of Latin?

Hihi, Isabel, me too. Here in Austria people also use their hands to explain, except the case they are carrying something, but then you should watch their heads! :-D
Thank you Andrés, for the links!

Thank you Andrés, for the links! |
Conclusion: The human person was created with the mouth that speaks; and with the hands and arms that also speak....hi.hi.hi.....
