Wicker Man Remake Nominated For 2 "Razzies"

I'm delighted to see that last years awful remake of The Wicker Man is being justly honoured.It's picked up 2 nominations for the Razzis . These are the unofficial awards given to the very worst films of the year.
It's up for Worst Film & Nic Cage for worst actor. I wish it lots of luck :eviltongu

Only 2?! That's too bad...Maybe someone will come to their senses and add a few more catagories! I hope it wins!

yikes. I don't have any kind words to say about those scenes I just saw. Mr Cage is a wonderful actor but this is not very good to put it kindly.

Hey everyone,

I was almost tempted to buy this in the supermarket today... but I resisted the urge. I normally like to watch a film before passing judgement on it, as I've said before, but this one has received such terrible press that it really must be in a class of its own as far as bad remakes go. I'm not a huge fan of remakes as a rule, and especially a film as brilliant as The Wicker Man, well I simply can't imagine how they thought they could improve on it! I know that curiosity will get the better of me in the end and I'll get it and watch it, and then probably chastise myself for having bothered to do it. In any case, if that does happen, I won't say I wasn't warned. Ah well... Take care everyone:

The Remake of "The Wickler Man" was thrown there is a little time in Brazil with the title " THE Sacrifice". I didn't run to attend.
When it is available in DVD for lease I will rent (I won't buy, no). But this will only be for persistence because all the critics appear that it is not a good film. Still more for us, such demanding and accustomed fans to see a perfect one " The Wicker Man - 1973)

UUUMMMM....I just watched this compilation....Not only worse than I thought..I am sorry, I don't see why they even bothered to use the name 'The Wicker Man'....I don't see any resemblence to the original.

And if they thought they were 'improving' it and 'updating' it by adding the 'physical violence' (from a christian virgin?) than they are really worse than pathetic.

Ah well, only MY opinion.....

I am beginning to think that Razzies may be too good for this one!

Wow five Razzies! Haven`t seen this film yet, and I did not want this either. Because I like the original too much to see what was done from this. But all the bad reviews make me curious...maybe I will do as Isabel and borrow the DVD.

Ha ha ha! I knew it! "The Wicker Man" remake was a total disaster. They changed everything I loved about the original and created a movie that was poorly written. Five Razzies you say Helen? I can just laugh my head off! But I should have expected this to happen. It's a good thing I never purchased the DVD.
