Rep Power: 6 | Christopher Lee in "Sweeney Todd".
Yes, after much discussion, I have heard that Christopher Lee will be starring in Tim Burton's "Sweeney Todd" I am excited to hear this wonderful news and can't wait to see the film myself! Now I, and everyone else here on CLW as well as millions of fans around the world, can add another film to see with Mr. Lee starring in the movie. You will probably here more on the subject very soon as publicity will surely take affect. I am still in amazment as I always enjoy when Christopher Lee signs on for more productions. Well, here is to Mr. Lee and all his adoring fans! Take care to you all and I wish you the best!
Cheers,
David Clayton.

Hello everyone,
Well, David, I've seen a few places like wikipedia which say that Mr Lee will be appearing in Sweeney Todd, but it still seems to be pretty much unconfirmed. I very much hope that Mr Lee will be involved in this film, as it would give him another chance to work with Tim Burton and Johnny Depp, and perhaps even the opportunity of singing onscreen again! I also read in the trusted Rigby book that Mr Lee has always wanted to appear in a Sweeney Todd work, and, of course, he recorded the song "Epiphany" from the musical version for his album Christopher Lee Sings Devils, Rogues and Other Villains. The "Sweeney Todd" figure is a curious one, and I really liked Ray Winstone's interpretation of the character in the 2006 BBC dramatisation. It'll be interesting to see what Tim Burton comes up with (knowing his work it's bound to be good!) and whether or not Mr Lee ends up being in it! Take care:
Warmest regards,
Andrés

Warmest regards,
Andrés | Yes, I too have been researching for confirmation of Mr. Lee's association with this film. Rumors and blogs abound with Mr. Lee's association; however I have found no reliable sources yet....(Such as The Tim Burton Collective, which I have found to be accurate and up to date)....
I agree with you Andres, it would be great to see Mr. Lee in this production. The only 'new' confirmations I have found are on Alan Rickman....
Cheers,;)
Helen

Hello everyone,
Well, I've come across something interesting on the boards of another website, namely a link to a picture of a "teaser poster" for the upcoming Tim Burton film, Sweeney Todd. What is most interesting about the poster is that it includes Mr Lee's name in the cast listing. Although this doesn't necessarily prove anything regarding Mr Lee's involvement in the project, I remain hopeful for the possibility. Here is a link to the picture of the poster: http://h1.ripway.com/Karloffornia/sweey.bmp (Mr Lee's name appears between "Timothy Spall" and "Sacha Baron Cohen"). Take care everyone:
Warmest regards,
Andrés

Hello everyone,
I hate to be the bearer of bad tidings, but I have just discovered some sad news which affects "Sweeney Todd" from one of Luzmila's posts in the Spanish forum. Unfortunately work on the film has been suspended because Johnny Depp's daughter, Tiger Lily, is currently ill. According to the source in hand, Tiger Lily is suffering from blood poisoning. Obviously this must be a very difficult and distressing time indeed for Johnny Depp and his family, and I am sure that everyone here at CLW will join with me in wishing Tiger Lily a very speedy recovery. I pray that with God's help she will soon overcome her illness. May God guide and protect the Depp family through this most difficult of times. Here is the link to the news article itself: http://www.javno.com/en/lifestyle/clanak.php?id=26186 and to Luzmila's original post: http://christopherleeweb.com/forums/...83&postcount=5. Take care everyone:
Warmest regards,
Andrés
