Unhappy Wickerman Legs Stolen!

Hi, I ran across this article on the BBC Entertainment website page...It seems that the only remnants (the legs) of the original Wickerman have be abducted....

They think some ardent fan or fans may have wanted the 5 foot high legs as a film memento....

Shame on them! Not in the proper spirit of the film!

If you are interested the article can be found at:

Cheers,;)
Helen

Hello everyone,

Hear, hear, Helen! I think it is absolutely disgusting that some selfish individual(s) have stolen the remnants of the Wicker Man effigy. The stumps were there to be enjoyed by all who wanted to visit them, and now they're gone. I only hope that the police will be able to track them down and restore them to their proper location. This is indeed disheartening news. Take care everyone:

Warmest regards,

Andrés

Re: Wickerman Legs Stolen!

Yeah, it's SICK, all right.

But why now, after 30 years?

Think it had anything to do with the inferior WICKER MAN remake that just came out?

The new version might've pushed the wrong person's buttons. Maybe s/he was just crazy enough to pull off a stunt like this...in protest!

Re: Wickerman Legs Stolen!

This is a scandal. Those legs should be in a museum.

:thumpdown
Crazier thing this!
Sadness somebody to take possession of something preserved for the vision of all!

Without words.....GOSH ! We are also fans of the Man Done of Wicker. In a certain way we were also stolen, same if we could never see live the surpluses of the effigy, we knew that it was there...

Re: Wickerman Legs Stolen!

I couldn't believe it when I heard about this! I visited the site only a few weeks ago.
Anyone who would do such a thing is not a true Wicker Man fan. I only hope the legs are found soon & somehow replaced in their true setting.
