Post Mr Lee confirms role of Don Quijote in Metro newspaper

Hello everyone,

I have read some very exciting news in today's Metro newspaper (Wednesday, 22nd November, 2006). The piece is entitled "CHARACTER STUDY - Christopher Lee's favourite fictional figure" and reads as follows:

"My favourite fictional character is Don Quijote, whom I first encountered when I was about 11 years old. He is a great hero, highly intelligent, a dreamer, a romantic and is determined to make the world a better place. He never gives up and has the best intentions at heart. I've been accepted by the Spaniards as the perfect Don 'Quijote' because I look like him. I am also a dreamer. I understand exactly how he feels. I've been offered the part of him in a movie (which Jean Rochefort, pictured top right, previously did) and I've agreed to do it."

Anyway, I think that everyone here will agree that this would be a wonderful role for Mr Lee to play. I wonder if it is possible to know some more information about this. I am really delighted that it seems this project will come to fruition (it had been rumoured some time back), and I wish Mr Lee and everyone else involved in this the very best of luck. God bless:

Warmest regards,

Andrés

That's great news!

Imagine being asked to play your FAVORITE fictional character! I bet Mr. Lee is as thrilled as we all are.

It gives us Americans something to be extra "thankful" for, on Thanksgiving Day!

Thanks for sharing this bit of information with us Andres!

Don Quixote is definitely a dream role, and Mr. Lee a perfect fit........So much so, that you might think Cervantes wrote the story with Mr. Lee in mind;)

We will hope that the rumors of the past along with this news now, that this role for Mr. Lee does come to fruition.

Cheers,;)
Helen
