Evil stalks this house

Hi all. I mention this Television Movie that Mr. Lee participated in as the 'Host' and also featured a fine actor, Jack Palance. As Sadly, Mr. Palance has passed away, one of the last of the 'American Cowboys'. I don't know if Mr. Lee and Mr. Palance had the opportunity to spend any time together, but I would like to think so.

I have not had the opportunity to see this movie and was wondering if there was anyone that had and would like to comment.

Thank You.
Sadly,:(
Helen

Post Re: Evil stalks this house

Hello everyone,

I cannot comment on the film Evil Stalks This House, Helen, because I haven't seen it either. I do recall reading in Jonathan Rigby's book about Mr Lee that the screenwriter, Louis M Heyward, supposedly said that the story was basically a rip-off of H P Lovecraft's work. If memory serves, the book also says that Mr Lee's involvement with the project lasted all of one day.

I would, however, wish to express how deeply saddened I am to hear of the passing of the fine American actor, Jack Palance. Only a few days ago, I had been talking to my mother about how Mr Palance was still alive, and now to learn of his passing comes as a terrible shock, and is most upsetting. I know that he will be sadly missed by many people all over the world. At this time, I am reminded of the old saying, "old soldiers never die; they only fade away". Jack Palance (1919-2006, Reciescat In Pace). God bless:

With the saddest of affection,

Andrés

A fine actor Jack Palance was. I haven't seen the film either. Hope it's on DVD.
I remember back when we had an Q&A forum to ask Mr Lee questions and I asked Mr Lee who he thought played the count best and he said that out of the ones he has seen his anserw was Jack Palance.

Funny you should mention that, Joakim, because I've very recently acquired the 1973 film, Dracula, starring the late Jack Palance. I'm very much looking forward to watching this one, all the more so now having read that it has Mr Lee's endorsement. I fondly remember Mr Palance's performance in the segment called "The Man Who Collected Poe", from the Amicus portmanteau film Torture Garden, based on several short stories by Robert Bloch. Mr Palance played opposite a delightful Peter Cushing, with the great Burgess Meredith playing the devilish character of Dr Diablo.

How fortunate you were to have been with CLW when the Q&A forum with Mr Lee was running, Joakim! I would've loved to have been able to ask Mr Lee a few questions. Ah well, it may come back again in the future. Who knows? It just demonstrates once more how generous Mr Lee is to have dedicated time from his busy schedule to answer questions from his fans. I doubt many other actors would be prepared to do that! Take care everyone:

Warmest regards,

Andrés :)

P.S. I just noticed a typo I made in my previous post - "Reciescat" should of course read "Requiescat". I can't correct it up there, so I'm adding the note here instead. That'll teach me to type in Latin!

Re: Evil stalks this house

The CLW site is unlike any site on the web. This is a very very special site.
It has been run by our trusted Admin for many years. As for a Q&A forum in the future is as far as I now not going to happen. Mr Lee is very busy and still is and it's been fun while it lasted but unfortantly we couldn't have it anymore.

It realy is me in the avatar picture there....hehe.

Well, I can still hope! And if not the Q&A forum, we have those lovely Christmas messages from Mr Lee each year. They really do make my Christmas!

Are you trying to pull the wool over our eyes? Who's that really, Joakim?

Warmest regards,

Andrés

I'm just kidding. It's my favourite conductor in the world. Claudio Abbado.
That's true we have christmas greetings from Mr Lee. I hope we get one this year if he has the time.
