Rep Power: 25 | You count when it began your " I like" for Mr. Lee With me it went like this:
I saw in TV " The Hound of the Baskervilles", later " The Skull", then noticed that he had the same actor in the two films. I liked, but I confused the names. I associated the face of Mr. Lee to the name Peter Cushing and the face of Cushing to the name Christopher Lee. It was changed in my idea. But I was already "impassioned" by the films and for the actors, mainly for Mr. Lee of changed name. In one night, (I was 11 years old) I woke up and I went to the front of TV where my mother (Ema) she attended a film: An enormous and beautiful hand, with dark hair - brunet - they leave a tomb holding strong that... It was " Dracula, the Prince of the Darkness." I decided to render more attention and then I discovered that that Henry Baskerville and the other, and that of the beautiful hand if he called CHRISTOPHER LEE. I never again forgot the name and I continued sells whenever possible (and sometimes until when it was impossible) films with Mr. Lee. I adore when they are the two in that (Peter and Lee).

(Baskerville, Scaramanga, Dooku, Mr. Bernard, Darvas, Kurt, Captain Robeles...) I Hope to see his character in Papa João Paulo II and Cawboys for Christ and also in The Adventures of Greyfriars Bobby.

It was the first time my heart fluttered (Mi corazón agitó) and he has been doing it ever since. Even now, after all these years I still feel that emotion.

Our King. | Reminds me of J.K Rowling's Slytherin song against Ronald Weasley:
Weasley cannot save a thing,
He cannot block a single ring,
That's why Slytherins all sing:
Weasley is our King.
Weasley was born in a bin,
He always lets the Quaffle in,
Weasley will make sure we win,
Weasley is our King.
Weasley is our King,
Weasley is our King,
He always lets the Quaffle in,
Weasley is our King
Now let's edit it a bit ;)
Chris owns all those things,
That is why he is our King
He makes all fans (scream or) sing
Christopher Lee is our king
He was born in a land far from the Brits
His way of talking takes you in
And that's why all fans sing
Christopher Lee is our King
Okay I'm not much of a rhymer but you get the point ;)

But How 'far from the land of the Brits' is Belgravia London? (Where Mr. Lee was born)............
Or is this just a case of 'poetic license'.....
Cheers,
Helen

I don't know and I don't know if Mr. Lee was born far or close of that or of that place. but blessed it is Mr. Lee's place of birth! Here in Brazil (especially in Bahia), when the people admire somebody they treat him of: * * * Oh, My King * * * * Independent of that, HE is Our King: Our King Saruman, Our King Dooku, Our King Scaramanga, Our King with Rhapsody, Our King Kurt, Our King Mr. Bernard.... Always and eternally OUR KING (of the voice, of the smile, of the glance, of the most exceptional talent of the WORLD)... and that it inspires a lot of people... Ei, I know that you agree with me!
******Ei, won't you count how and when were you enchanted for his/her work? Starting from when did you begin to like of Mr. Lee?

Isabel,
I can't really 'count' when I began to like Mr. Lee's work.
I have always admired the work of Mr. Lee, Mr. Cushing, Mr. Price and Mr. Karloff. My favorite 'Kings of Horror'....
It might have been during my introduction and love of Edgar Allen Poe (long time ago!), when I saw "The Oblong Box" with Mr. Lee and Vincent Price....Or it might have been "Horror Express" with Mr. Lee and Mr. Cushing....Or it might have been 'The Mummy' also with Mr. Cushing....I can't really say, but of the movies of Mr. Lee's that I have chosen to watch, he has always delivered a brilliant performance...regardless of the circumstances surrounding the film....
I have spent the last few years trying to obtain Mr. Lee's earlier works, such as Corridor of Mirrors and The Crimson Pirate....
Cheers,
Helen

Marije,
I don't know too many people that are perfect at geography, including me.....
I just thought it was cute......
If you haven't had the chance yet, there is a very good biography on Mr. Lee that Admin put together, and contains a lot of information (click on the BIOGRAPHY button on the website title bar).......
Cheers,;)

Mr. Lee is just a kind of guy who people will enjoy as an actor. There are so many in the world of acting who don't even care on how they dress, act, and speak. How about Adam Sandler ;no way, Nic Cage: Maybe, Antonio Banderos: yeah, and so many others.
Mr. Lee dresses up as a gentleman, speaks nicely: deep voice, nice, and stands strait unlike these other unrully people.

Amber
