Rep Power: 29 | Never, Never Say Die
Sunday the BBC America was running an Avenger's Marathon, and I had the opportunity to watch an Episode that Mr. Lee participated in called Never, Never Say Die. I am not going to do a review of the episode here...I just wanted to share a few thoughts......
In the beginning of the episode, Mr. Lee walks into the road in front of a car, and is hit and killed.....I was thinking at that moment, WHAT? 2 minutes in and he is already killed off? This isn't fair!!!!!!!
Well, if you haven't seen the episode, I am pleased to tell you, Mr. Lee lives to wreck havoc for Steed and Mrs. Peel through the episode.....Mr. Lee was excellent as Dr. Stone and his 'clone'....
If you ever have the chance to see this episode I recommend it.....
This was my first exposure to Mr. Lee's efforts in Television. It is wonderful to see Mr. Lee's seamless transition into different entertainment mediums...You hear of so many actors and actresses that fail to make the transition....Truely the mark of a brilliant star......
Cheers, ;)
Helen

I just love NEVER, NEVER SAY DIE. Way back, I'd gotten it from Amazon, just 'cos HE was in it! But I found THE AVENGERS to be a topnotch show. Can't believe I missed out on it on Prime Time when I was a kid.
Mr. Lee was so cool as Dr. Stone. I dug his little red bow tie, & superior attitude.
My favorite part was when Mrs. Peel felt Dr. Stone's "clone's" chin, & realized it was growing a BEARD...
I can just feel it now, against MY hand!
Mr. Lee had that same "Sleeping Beauty" look he'd had as the dead Kurt in WHIP & THE BODY. It made me want to cry!

Hello everyone,
I've always liked "The Avengers" and I also recently watched the episode "Never, Never Say Die". I kept chuckling each time that poor driver would run over Mr Lee's character and subsequently discover that the body had disappeared from the accident site, only to pop up in yet another location, alive and well. "The Avengers" series were filled with great comedy.
If you enjoyed that one, Helen, I would recommend Mr Lee's other contribution to the series, "The Interrogators", where Mr Lee's character Colonel Mannering pits his wits against John Steed and Tara King (played by Linda Thorson). You might also enjoy a couple which featured Peter Cushing: "Return of the Cybernauts" and "The Eagle's Nest" if you haven't seen those already.
Just to finish on an informative note, the actor who played John Steed, Patrick Macnee, actually went to school with Mr Lee, and they acted together in several school plays, including such greats from Shakespeare as Henry V and Richard II. I guess you could say that they started off working together very early on, and were able to renew the association in their adult careers. They also appeared together more recently in the two Sherlock Holmes films "Sherlock Holmes and the Leading Lady" and "Incident at Victoria Falls", new stories which envisage Holmes (Mr Lee) and Watson (Patrick Macnee) in their retirement years:
Warmest regards,
Andrés

Rep Power: 25 | Re: Never, Never Say Die I can be satisfied with the picture of the film NEVER, NEVER, SAY DIE and with the comments on this that I can see in the Livro The Films Of CL. Here I found several films of the which I never heard to speak before, like this so many characters of appearance wild, cruel, sweet and charming like Mr. Lee were acting.
