Re: Thank You Admin
Hello everyone,
Hear, hear, Helen! I would also like to express my most sincere gratitude and appreciation for the wonderful work that Juan does in updating and maintaining CLW. Helen is quite correct to point out how easy it is to take for granted something which must create a huge amount of daily toil.
I know from watching one of the DVDs (the exact title eludes me right now) where Mr Lee is speaking in a conference about the film Jinnah and the whole process of preparing the film for DVD release just how dedicated Juan is. There is one part where Mr Lee is describing how the film had been stored in cans and shelved for a number of years, and so when it came to revisiting the celluloid for the purpose of making the DVDs, they discovered that the existing copy was very dirty with the accumulation of dust and sand, and other bits of stuff. From what I recall from what was said, I believe that Juan personally revised and cleaned each and every frame of Jinnah on celluloid, because they all required attention. If one considers that each second of film consists of 24 frames (individual stills) and remembering that Jinnah lasts for almost two hours, then this is easily well in excess of 100,000 frames, closer to 200,000 by my calculations (although mathematics was never my strong suit.) In any case, if that isn't dedication, then I don't know what is!
I would like to thank Juan for all the hard work he does to ensure that CLW remains THE place to learn about Mr Lee and share thoughts and opinions with others who admire Mr Lee and his work. I would also like to take this opportunity to thank him for his kindness in providing answers to many questions on subjects and news items which have arisen here. Thank you very much indeed for everything, Juan. Please keep up the hard work. You are the main organising force behind CLW, and it simply would not be possible without your efforts. The best of luck with everything, and God bless:
Warmest regards,
Andrés
