How greedy can film makers get!?

I ran across this blurb at contactmusic.com. I can not vouch for its accuracy and/or authenticity, however it sounds about right.....

It seems there has been a hold out on billions of dollars in character merchandising profits from the LOTR series that portions of should go to the actors and actresses that had 'merchandise deals' with the producers, our Mr. Lee included.....

Shame on those 'greedy' people.....

It seems even 'contracts' aren't worth the paper they are written on anymore....I sincerely hope someone steps up and 'shares the wealth' with these fine actors/actresses.....

I wouldn't be in the least surprised, Helen! It has become patent that a lot of the LOTR was set up just to make as much money as possible from the venture. I guess it must be a really good franchise by now. If this is true, I think it's disgusting that the actors, the people who really made the films as splendid as they were, have not been adequately remunerated for their work (or at all.) The people responsible ought to be thoroughly ashamed of themselves. But, then again, how exactly do you shame the shameless? A very sad comment on the state of affairs in Hollywood and the film industry today:

It is incredible as always there is somebody "removing advantage for itself own" of all of the situations!

It seems that the "talent" today doesn't receive so much importance. Another thing that leaves me surprise is the fact that some "models", soccer" "players get to be so valued financially and GREAT actors / atrizes are discriminated even in some situations. I think the world TODAY is living a lot "of the moment" and only the $$$$$$it is what matters.

Well, it sure kinda sucks monkey but what could one do about it?
Besides, it says more about them then about the actors really. The actors/actresses are willing to work hard while those thiefs slack off on their pale lazy butt and get money shoved in their laps

Reminds me of the music industry here. Here, if you dont have money you can't do anything. Even if you have the talent. I am a singer/songwriter, and since I am not rich, my talent isn't recognised. only those who can afford to be pushed into the industry will make it even with no talent at all. I do wish that more talent would be recognised, money or not. Oh well.

Nothing we can do about the music or film industry. :(
