Rep Power: 29 | Mr. Lee Honorary President
The 14th Jules Verne Film Festival in Paris begins 22 March through the 27 March 2006. Mr. Lee has been named the Honorary President for this festival according to the festival website.
Jules Verne wrote wonderful tales of adventure, and Mr. Lee has had some interesting adventures in his life, a great pairing I think
Congratulations Mr. Lee...

Congratulations Mr. Lee!
On a side note...We've got cable on our TV; will it be broadcasted on a certain channel so I can be drooling in front of it as I watch?

Perusing the Jules Verne Film Festival website, I discovered that Mr. Lee is not only being distinguished with the 'Honorary President' of the the film festival, but on March 22nd Mr. Lee is being honored with an award.
Mr. Lee is being presented with the Jules Verne Achievement Award for his 'immense contribution to adventure and science fiction cinema'....
Also on Saturday, March 25th is the 'Night of the Mummy' with a special viewing of 'THE MUMMY' 1959...special appearance with Mr. Lee....as reported from the website.....
Mr. Lee's career has spanned all film genres, and in each instance he has created memorable characters and moments, which continue to entertain and bring pleasure to not only his fans but generations of audiences world wide. It is so wonderful to see Mr. Lee acknowledged for his contributions to film and entertainment....
Congratulations Mr. Lee..........
The information can be found at the Jules Verne Film Festival website under guests and juries or directly at: http://www.julesverneaventures.com/j...le=264&lang=en
Cheers, Helen;)
P.S. Marije - Film Festivals aren't usually broadcast...but there may be some video or photographs available on the website after the event.....I will be watching for any updates and post as I find them.....Cheers....

If you haven't visited the journal site that Luzmila kindly provided us, you might want to give it a once over. Granted it may be a bit difficult if you don't read French, however, if you go to the bottom of the article there are several links.
One of these links, ( Ouverture du Festival par Christopher Lee), is a quicktime video of Mr. Lee greeting the audience and accepting his award..... It is excellent to see Mr. Lee standing there, patiently waiting for the applause to die down....
And of course he has to wait a bit for that to happen...... You will also get the chance to hear Mr. Lee speaking to the audience in French.....
I hope you can spare a few minutes to check this out, if you haven't already ......

The Jules Verne Adventures Film Festival website has recently posted ' The Best of 2006'. This is a link to pictures of some of the highlights of the festival.
There are a number of pictures of Mr. Lee, including pictures taken with Ernest Borgnine, and HSH Prince Albert II of Monaco. There are also pictures of Mr. Lee receiving his Achievement award, and pictures of him signing autographs...
Excellent pictures! I hope you have the time to visit the website.

or you can go directly to the webpage at: http://www.julesverneaventures.com/j...rticle=346?=en

Rep Power: 25 | Re: Mr. Lee Honorary President With his work really exceptional, anything fairer than the Mr. Lee is honored with honors. Beautiful to see him/it with Ernest in the clip. I would LOVE if he was also honored by one of the great schools of samba of Rio of Janeirol. Only imagine, Mr. Lee to parade in a float as "prominence" and to have a school with 4 thousand participants telling his/her life and showing their wonderful characters! That would be a great class and an enrichment for our people.
