Wink Mr. Lee MVP for 2005

USA Today is reporting that in the worst box office sales since 2001, it seems that Mr. Lee is Hollywoods MVP with the three movies he was involved in; (Star Wars; Revenge of the Sith, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, and The Corpse Bride) bringing in over 640 million dollars.

They also report that Mr. Lee was the the top box office draw in 2002 with The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers, and Star Wars: Episode 2 The Attack of the Clones.

Congratulations Mr. Lee!

And we can hope that Hollywood knows when they have a great thing going, and keep Mr. Lee busy for a long, long time!

Re: Mr. Lee MVP for 2005

This is a true measure of Mr Lee's enduring talent and popularity that, at this stage of his long career, he is the world's most bankable star.

I really can't think of any other actor who has been as popular when reaching Mr Lee's age.

Hello everyone,

LOL, not to be contrary or anything, Majire, but I would hardly situate Ian McKellan (at 66 years of age) in Mr Lee's age group!

I think someone who was rather more popular in her later years as an actress was Jessica Tandy, especially when she received the Academy Award for Best Actress at the age of 80 (in 1989) playing "Miss Daisy Werthan" in Driving Miss Daisy. In fact she not only won the Oscar, but also a Golden Globe and a British Film award for her performance. She also held the distinction of being the oldest amongst actors to ever win an Academy Award. Amongst other awards that she received are an Emmy, and four Tonies.

The fact that she was so successful in her later years speaks volumes about her popularity and appeal, especially when one considers the fact that she was working in Hollywood. As Gary Brumburgh puts it, "she enjoyed an amazing film renaissance at the age of 80, something unheard of in a town that worships youth and nubile beauty," (see http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0001788/bio,) a subject Mr Lee has had a lot to say about recently:

Warmest regards,

Andrés

*giggles*

Well, I didn't know that Mr. McKellen was that age really but that must be his Gandalf image that I estimated him older.

Is it true that he is homosexual by the way?

I read it somewhere and was like 0.0 no way!

(Note that I don't have anything against homosexuals, I got lesbian aunts)

Warm regards
*blows a kiss*
