Happy 44th Wedding Anniversary to Mr and Mrs Lee!

Hello everybody,

Today, 17th March, 2005, marks Mr and Mrs Lee's forty-fourth wedding anniversary. It is also St Patrick's Day, patron saint of Ireland. I thought I would take this opportunity to wish Mr and Mrs Lee a very happy anniversary, and St Patrick's Day. I hope they have a wonderful day together, and I also wish them many, many more. Happy celebrations, and God bless.

I also hope that everyone else at CLW will come forward to add their own best wishes for the occasion:

P.S.: my mother wanted me to add her own best wishes for Mr and Mrs Lee, especially because my parents's anniversary is on the 18th March (their 29th year together.) My mother also says that she hopes her marriage lasts for as long as Mr and Mrs Lee's, and that they are a real inspiration to others to have stayed married for so long together. I couldn't agree with her more!! (There you go, mum, I got your thoughts in too.) :D

After reading poeraven's post,I felt I had to reply. Like poeraven's parents---mine were married in March.March 31,1961---EXACTLY 2 weeks after the Lee's were,and like Christopher and Gitte,they will celebrate 44 years of marriage. Like the Lee's----there have been "ups and downs" in their marriage, but then that's probably true in all marriages. I'm sure that in the case of the Lees,the ups and downs have just made their marriage STRONGER. My parents have had to deal with my brother's "problems" and my Dad's battles with cancer(he's "cancer-free'' for the time-being,but has been told that it could return) and somehow they've remained together. Unlike the "Hollywood" marriages of today-----it shows that their marriage was meant to be.Both for Christopher and Gitte as well as my Mom and Dad.

Well, better late than never, I always say, for me and my Mom, Doris, to extend my heartfelt congratulations to Gitte and Christopher on their 44th anniversary. In a day and age of disposable everything, including relationships, it is magnificent to me that I know not one, but two couples that have had enduring marriages: my parents were married for 56 years. :)
