May Day

There must be someone out there who knows what's going on with 'May Day' (I suspect the people who know have got better things to be doing than lurking around forums). There is pretty much zilch about it on the internet. It seems to be forever stranded at the 'anounced' stage on resources like the IMDB. The most recent mention of it seems to be in 'The Herald' interview with Christopher Lee at the end of last year. Since then there's been nothing. It would be a shame if it never saw the light of day. Anyone know anything?

Re: May Day

MayDay is just a project that is in the air, like many thousands of movies that never get made. Why? Because no one has come up with the money.

Investors ask:

Who is directing and who is producing? What was the last movie they made? How much money did it make from the theatrical release?

You of course know the answers and it simply does not look promising.

Re: May Day

This was an article in the Scotland Sunday Herald about (what was the film May Day) shooting starting next year........

May Day to Cowboys for Christ?

Filming next year in Scotland.....Can't go wrong there!

Here is the link for the complete article:

http://www.sundayherald.com/52050

Could be interesting....Like the comment about critiquing Religious extremism in America....considering the Wickerman remake!

Cheers, ;)

Re: May Day

Every year two things happen, the title changes and it is announced that filming will start the following year.

From "The Riding of the Laddie" to "The Laddie" to "Mayday" to "Cowboys for Christ".

Let's hope this time, next year means next year.

Re: May Day

I just read this over at the Moviehole website about Vanessa Redgrave:

Quote:
She just finished shooting a role in Robert Hardy's "Cowboys for Christ" opposite Christopher Lee and Sean Astin.
Could this project finally have gotten off the ground?

Re: May Day

Thanks for the Amazon link! My pre-order has been placed.

Clever cover design in that it should catch the attention of Wicker Man fans on a bookstore shelf. However, I hope that unbelievably insipid synopsis is not taken from the book jacket, or publisher data, since it makes very little sense and is not likely to entice any buyers that aren't already familiar with the project. Who writes such nonsense?

Re: May Day

I agree the synopsis is badly written but this is the most tangible thing I've seen on the project .
I've pre-ordered the book . The sun depiction is the same one used in The Wicker Man poster which is a clever touch .
