Crimson Rivers 2 on DVD

Looks as if a date has finally been set for the Region 2 release of Crimson Rivers 2: Angels Of the Apocalypse with Mr Lee and Jean Reno. Just over a month to wait as 21st march is the release date. cannot wait to see Mr Lee in the juicy role of a nazi war criminal

Amazon.co.uk still lists April 11, 2005 as the date for the UK DVD.

Crimson Rivers 2 in Region 2 has been available from the German amazon.de for a while http://www.amazon.de/exec/obidos/ASI...237509-7168560
but this German version only has the German and French soundtracks.
Which means that I'll probably also have to buy the UK edition, if I want an English soundtrack. Oh great...

I've seen the movie, and I liked it. Christopher Lee is as good as ever (well, rather as evil as ever ;) ), although he doesn't get that much to do, and they gave his character a really really stupid name. Heinrich von Garten (lit. Henry of Garden!!), what kind of a name is that for a villain?? It sounds German alright, but they could have picked something more suitable. To use a Nazi as the bad guy isn't that creative either, it has been done so many times in movies. In my opinion, the scriptwriters should have done a better job with the character background and development instead of just taking the typical cliché Nazi off the shelf, but that is not Mr Lee's fault.

One German online review (which I can't find any more) wrote that Christopher Lee was probably the only person who could have said his introductory lines without sounding silly. I agree.

However, a lot of people didn't like the movie at all, so if you haven't seen it, you might want to rent it first and then decide whether to buy it. As I said, Mr von Garten doesn't get as much screentime as I would have liked him to get.

Does anyone know whether Mr Lee has also done the German and French voice of his character? I think so, at least the German, but I don't know for sure.

For those of you who have seen this already...should someone see the first Crimson Rivers before viewing this one, or will this sequel stand on its own? Do you know what I mean...can I view this one as its own film, or does it need to "go" with its predecessor? I'm going to order it, but before I do, I thought I'd ask in case it need to go with the first one as a set. Thanks for any input anyone can give! :)

You can see the movie on it's own. No need to see the first one (which is also highly enjoyable) to enjoy Crimson Rivers 2.
There are a few jokes that refer to the first movie so you will miss out on those, but nothing important.

I saw the film in its french version and I can confirm that Mr Lee has done the french voice.
