Talking "The Corpse Bride" Trailer

Hello everyone,

This is a kind of follow-up to the news Lallard37 posted a while back, where she had found some great screen captures of Tim Burton's latest animation, The Corpse Bride (see http://christopherleeweb.com/forums/...ad.php?t=61525).

I discovered late last night that the first trailer for this film has been released on the Tim Burton website. It can be viewed at the following link, but requires Quicktime Player >>> http://www.timburtoncollective.com/corpse.html. Luzmila_F has already posted this news on the Spanish forum (see http://christopherleeweb.com/forums/...1008#post31008). She also includes another link with more screen captures taken from the trailer, which has been added since I last checked out the Tim Burton site >>> http://www.timburtoncollective.com/cbcaps.html.

The trailer itself is full of hilarious moments, and it looks like a must see animation. I am submitting some of the screen captures (they all come from that last link for the Tim Burton website) as attachments because I have a suspicion as to which character might be the one voiced by Mr Lee. From listening to the trailer, I noted that the only male character who appears therein but doesn't really speak is a small old gentleman with a moustache (see pic one). The rather portly-looking chap in pic two I strongly believe has his voice done by Albert Finney, whereas the rather lugubrious-looking gentleman in pic three I think is Richard E Grant. By a process of elimination, that only leaves the old, rather meek-looking gent from pic one, unless Mr Lee plays a character who does not appear in the trailer at all (which is a possibility). Perhaps those of you who see the trailer could let me know if you think I could be right, or, if not, who you think Mr Lee might be. In any case, time will tell, one way or another!!

Well, I wish everyone well, and may God bless you all:

Warmest regards,

poeraven :)

Re: "The Corpse Bride" Trailer

Thank you, poereven, for the link to the trailer. It looks absolutely fantastic and I can't wait for it to be released (although it will seem a long time until Halloween). There is a website (http://www.corpsebridemovie.com) for the movie listed at the end of the trailer, but all it contains at the moment is the trailer itself.

There is also going to be a range of toys based on the characters. See http://www.spawn.com/news/news6.aspx?id=12523 for more details.

Best wishes all

Love those photos. Wonder what happened to the guy with the big hair from a previous attachment? These teasers make it hard to wait for the finished product (not that I have a lot of patience, anyway!). ;)

Re: "The Corpse Bride" Trailer

I've been wondering what Tim Burton has been up to - oh yes isn't he also doing "Willy Wonka" I am curious to see what comes of this. As a student in the animation industry it is always great to see other people's works. As for Burton's previous animation, Nightmare before Christmas, I loved the illustrated book and the animation but the musical was a bit tedious for me. Nope not a fan of musicals.

Probably because people don't go around signing everyday conversations - maybe in the future?

Re: "The Corpse Bride" Trailer

Hello,

I revisit this thread to add a comment onto the subject which may be of interest. I'm sure everyone knows that Mr. Lee is also going to appear in Tim Burton's "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory" as Willy Wonka's father. Yes, his father.

I'm not so sure what I think, although Burton has stated that this version will follow the original novel by Roald Dahl, rather than the 1971 version which was more loosely based.
