The Event of the Year

:) Hello all the Fans !

No doubt that the "Special Signings" event at the Edwarian Hotel in Heathrow has been a complete success...many thank for Lester Freeman and his staff for giving us the opportunity to meet in person Mister Christopher Lee, as we say in French..."en chair et en os"...
Everything what just great..the films, and specially the autograph session with photos and questions and answers onstage....
To hear Mister Lee talking about the movies stars he has met the films he has done, were so interesting... there would be so much to say about it .I really think this event will remain a wonderful memory for me naturally and for many of his fans who were lucky to be there....thank also to Juan, and of course to Mister Lee, the living legend in person...the Lord of Misrule. A bientôt Mister Lee, on the screens again...

Re: The Event of the Year

Hello Georges,

I hope you remember me. It's Andres. We met on Sunday at the "Christopher Lee - A Celebration In Film" event. We spoke about the Forbidden Planet store, and exchanged views on the classic Hammer Films, amongst other things. I have just been reading your thoughts and comments and I totally agree with what you say (you might be interested to read what I had to say about the experience, and I direct you to my own posting: http://christopherleeweb.com/forums/...ad.php?t=61448).

It was an absolutely brilliant event, and, although I hope Mr Lee goes on to do more like it, I tend to agree with what you said on Sunday, that it is unlikely that there will be another (at least like this one). But one never knows!!

Have you checked out the five minute video of the event on the front page (www.christopherleeweb.com/heathrow1.wmv)? I think if you look closely you'll find that we're both on it (I'm at the far right-hand side as the camera pans about 17 seconds into the video, along with my mother. I think I caught a glimpse of you to the far left at about 10 seconds running time). Let me know if I'm right.

By the way, did you make it to the Forbidden Planet store in the end? I remember you said you wanted to but you weren't sure if you would have time. Do let me know. Great to see you posting on the site.

Ah, I just thought of something else. You spoke about The Making Of A Legend DVD, and whether it would be likely there would be others. I read on one of the threads here that Juan (Mr Lee's son-in-law) is currently in the process of finishing off the rest of the volumes. I'm not sure when they would be available to purchase though. Perhaps someone who reads this will know the answer to that (or at least where to find out).

Anyway, all the best Georges "Screamer" Nahon, and look out for the name "poeraven" which is my screenname for this site. A bientôt, mon ami (et merci beaucoup pour le boisson).:)

Hello André !

So kind to reply to my thread...I did my best to write this e-mail you've read in English...and it was wonderful to get your reply on the site....actually I'm not a "superman" with the PC...so it took me time to learn it, as I belong to the old generation !...Well, it was a such a great time we spent at the Heathrow event....and thank again to all the staff...evething went on perfetly...and the surprise was having the opportunity to watch a small film on the net! Just great ! Unfortunaltly I could not recognize you face among the crowd...but I still remember your knowledge about Christopher Lee's career....it's amazing. In France we have not all the opportunities to see all his films, I mean the latest ones....but in London, I bought "Theatre of death" directed by Sam Gallu...it's a very strange film I can assure you....Lee is just strong and frightening, as a the Devil himself (to use a Lee's expression !....), but he goes out from the story at the end at the film without explainations.....strange...I also bought "Horror Hotel"....but I could not find another favorite one call "The hands of Orlac", half made in France by Edmond T Greville, in the 60's....Well, I have a lot of stuff in my home about films of this period, as I told you...specially in French magazines...because in our country Christopher Lee was (and he's still) very popular.
Well, I hope to come again in London, may be next year, for another Christopher Lee's even....about the making of the next DVD :"The Making of a Legend"...next volumes... during the event Mr Lee told me he had no time to continue this work for the meantime....let's hope this will be soon...By the way, what is your opinion about the first volume 1 DVD you have ? Let me have your "impressions". I enjoyed it very much myself. I have to mention the introduction by the very intelligent John Rhys-Davies... Please forgive my English....Wishing you all the best , looking forward to read you soon again...and on other member's threads also...
Take care of yourself, your french friend,
Screamer
