Andres , that was a joy to read and it only confirms what those of us who have been lucky enought to meet the man have always known .......... how generous he is to his fans .
You are obviously a true fan and I'm thrilled for you and your mother . I hope to see you posting more in the future .

Hello poeraven
I'm glad that you enjoyed the weekend. I attended the Saturday event, but (as much as i would have loved it) we could not afford to stay for the whole weekend. It is great to hear about the Sunday one though and what a wonderful first post. You have some fabulous photographs by which to remember the weekend.
I remember seeing you and your mother on Saturday. If I had known you were a member I would have said hello. So, belatedly, "hello". (I only became a member of this site after I had booked tickets about a week ago (so don't know too many people on here), although I had been aware of the site since before it went down for maintenance.) I too can be seen in the video (I'm wearing the white t-shirt, but shhhh don't tell anyone).
Best wishes all

Lovely article that Andres, you certainly enjoyed yourself emensley. Your nerves seemed to hold up pretty well, mine were shattered the first time I met Mr. Lee.
Keep posting

Actually, Colinb, I must confess I had already met Mr Lee once before at the Forbidden Planet on Monday, 27th September, 2004, where he was signing copies of the Jinnah DVD, together with The Dark Secret album with Rhapsody.
I thought I would have been nervous for that first encounter, but, once I started talking with Mr Lee, I found he was so approachable, and he put me completely at ease. I even asked him a question (without getting tongue-tied) about The Wicker Man, which he answered. He's someone who, to quote my mother, "inspires confidence." You don't feel self-conscious at all. At least I didn't.
I really enjoyed meeting Mr Lee (and Rhapsody!!) that day, but it was all too brief, because there were other people waiting in line.
Just thought I'd clear that one up for you. Also gives me an excuse to attach some scans of mementos from that first meeting. They should appear below:
Kind regards to all,
poeraven

Hi all (again),
Okay, I just got back these pictures of the "Forbidden Planet" Jinnah DVD/Rhapsody The Dark Secret signing event (see above). I tried to fit them in on my previous post, but it wouldn't let me (or I was too dumb to figure out how to add more attachments!)
Anyway, I just thought I'd add the photos because I think Mr Lee and Rhapsody came out quite well in them. Let me know what you think of them:
Kind regards,
poeraven :)

I was also at the event. You may have recognised me as the rather nervous-looking, dark haired boy. It really was an amazing experience meeting Mr. Lee for the first time.

Hi Luke,
I'm not altogether sure if I remember you from the event. The only person that comes to mind answering your description is the young lad who was little a couple of rows or so behind me (to my right) on Sunday 14th. The boy I'm thinking of was wearing glasses, like me, did indeed have dark hair, and asked Mr Lee a question regarding the third Lord of the Rings film (Return of the King). The question, so far as I can remember, asked Mr Lee whether "The Voice of Saruman" and "The Scouring of the Shire" (both of which are in Tolkien's original work - although if you look closely you will find that "The Voice of Saruman" actually appears in The Two Towers, Book III, Chapter X) had been filmed by Peter Jackson, and whether, being a Tolkien fan, Mr Lee had ever discussed these with Peter Jackson.
I cannot think of anyone else who fits the general description you have provided. If you check back on this thread you will let me know if I have identified you correctly (either on here, through a private message, or via email, as you like). If I haven't, please jog my memory further, as I'm now intrigued. In any case, I'm glad you enjoyed meeting Mr Lee, and yes it was an absolutely amazing experience!! I think everyone had a brilliant time there!!
Hope to hear from you again soon, and hope to read more of your posts on this site:
Kind regards,
poeraven :)
