Paul Naschy, for all who dont know is Spains answer to Lon Chaney jnr and Christopher Lee. Naschy is a fan of the genre and played almost every monster( the wolfman alone 8 or 10 times). Paul Naschy films are an acquired taste and take some getting used to but one of his best, Draculas Great Love, comes out on DVD in the next month. Horror fans should check it out for it has some great atmosphere and a couple of cool scenes shot in slow motion of vampires rooming in the cellars of Draculas Home Also not to spoil but Draculas demise is quite differant than most films and a unique idea.

I have this on DVD already - a US company called "Incredibly Strange Filmworks" has put out a basic-no-frills version. It's one of many discs I have yet to get around to watching. I don't think the quality of it will be too good though. It was a cheap disc.

I haven't seen this film for years when it was shown at my local cinema as part of a horror triple bill .I must admit , I enjoyed it at the time even though it was really cheesy .
It'll be interesting to see it again with adult eyes

I bought the DVD as it was very cheap(was buying a few other cheapo discs at the same time), and am trying to get around to watching several of Naschy's movies.

The forum section at Paul Naschy's website has a very interesting discussion on this and another dvd release of the same film. This is one of Naschy's best films, and a great example of Eurohorror, imho.

I agree with you 1oo% i love euro horror and this is a fine example of it. This and the BLind dead films as well as stuff like Lorelys Grasp Devils Nightmare & Devils Wedding Night are just fine examples of some of the great films made over seas in the early 70s. These films can be looked at as classics or as cheesy garbarge depending on the viewers personal taste. They are not for everyone

I agree with you on Horror Rises from the Tomb, Fred. Surprisingly strong film. I've never seen Naschy's Dracula, though.

I'll keep an eye out for it.

like i said Dave, i like it and find it very enjoyable I would really recommend it to any horror fan especially if you have seen a Naschy film and know what its like going in. Naschy is arguablly miscast as the Count, but perfect as the wolfman. You should Try and check out some of those wolfman films as well
