Just read that Mr Lee's character gets killed off after the 1st 10 minutes...!

Oh thats not nice, Mr. Lee's parts are getting smaller and smaller.
Still I wait till I see the film before I get to upset.
That could be wrong, as many of them are.

Let's think logically here. Mr. Lee has not finished his work in EpIII as it had been initially claimed by the Spy. Yes, he left the set but that was because he had other work to do somewhere else. He was seen with Ewan McGregor, so he has a duel with Obi-Wan. There are stunt doubles, blue screens and yet more scenes to be shot. No one will know who fights who until the movie is edited or Lucas decides to tell anyone. Can you see that happening two years before the film is released?

I am surprised that reputable news sources will publish things as fact without having any conclusive proof. Then again, we all heard how Saruman was going to die in The Two Towers and the Dracula style death.

FACT: Mr Lee's screen time in EpIII is considerable and his part is part is crucial to the plot.

Thanks for clearing it up for us. Personaly I don't like reading news about up coming films like this one that are spoilers or at least try to act as spoilers. I don't like it when you know to much when it hasn't been released yet. Lucas is right to keep everything secret because it's much more fun to see a film when it's completly fresh and you haven't read any spoilers or news acting as "real news".

Ah, thanks for the clarification Mr. Admin :) Must say I was surprised as well as disappointed at the news of Dooku's premature death! Mr Lee is the only thing worth watching in the films....:D

It would be an insult to Christopher Lee if they killed off Count Dooku in the first 10 mins.

I hope his role in Episode III is substantial because I doubt Mr. Lee will last longer than the first 10 minutes in Return of the King.

I think that denying audiences the confrontation between Gandalf and Saruman in Two Towers (even though it is the dramatic centerpiece of the book) diminishes Lee's expert portrayal and the impact of Two Towers overall.

Putting the Isengard confrontation at the begining of Return of the King removes it from its dramatic context. I hope I'm wrong, but I fear Jackson's choice means Saruman will be dispatched quickly so he can get on with the story and Mr. Lee deserves better than that.

Have just watched The Two Towers again (got it for the other half for his birthday - day of the DVD release.) It only makes me desperate to see "Return of the King" -

I do wish to "spoilers" would stop - all it does is wind people up - and takes their minds off the fact that the quality of the films (LOTR Trilogy) so far has been fantastic and the latest Star Wars films continue to take us to the edge of our seats - wanting the next instalment to continue ASAP. Let's face it there are a great many reports that need to be looked at closely to see anything resembling truth !!

My only comment would be, as long as Mr Lee makes an appearance in any film, I would wait to see it. His screen presence can only add to the success of the subject - and if his character demise is near the start of a film, then we enjoy the moment.

:) Well said, Alison - I respect such an open-minded and clear attitude, and I, too, cannot wait to see Mr. Lee up on the screen again in the Star Wars saga, as well as in the ultimate chapter of the Lord of the Rings.

Oh..I wouldn't be upset yet. Keep in mind that Lucas and especially Rick McCallum put out a fair amount of misinformation as well.

Personally, I think it's a bit of a hobby with McCallum, when he actually has more then 30 seconds of spare time, to see how they can outwit the more rabid fans who think they know it all ;).

With filming due to continue in London next year, just like it was the case with EpII, you can forget about all spoilers and rumours concerning Mr. Lee's character. These were all based on who was with whom at the set on the day and assuming that the film was shot in the same order as the story develops. There were nothing more than hopeful guesses.

I showed Mr. Lee some of these so called spy reports and he said that they can keep guessing until 2005. By the law of probability eventually one them will get it right.
