The Force.net has an interesting article on this title subject with two possible titles that they have seen on several webnews sites, neither of which have been disputed.
I think we'll see plenty of titles before the "real" one finally comes out.

yeah, I agree...at least give us something to hang onto ... I mean the wait is just soooooo long :)
I think I'm going to sign up for the Hyperspace thing...The Force.net has a section where they tell you what times to go look at on the webcam to see anything major that's happening. Might be interesting.

I'd love to sign up to 'Hyperspace' on starwars.com, but I don't haver major credit card... I wish they took Paypal or something.
I don't think we'll hear the finalised title for Ep.3 until late next year - even 'Phantom Menace' was supposed to be called 'Balance of the Force' before it got its final title, so you never know what it'll be called until it's announced. :)

Patience, my friend. ;)
Sometimes it takes time to think of a title - I often write stories and don't know what to call them until I'm halfway through, or I spend a whole night flicking through a dictionary, looking for words that suit the story! Heh. And even if we had a title, it wouldn't bring the release of the film any closer - we may as well wait. 'Good things come to those who wait'.

The most depressing part is Lucas typicaly has better rumor titles the real titles. I think "Balance of the Force" sound alot better then the Phantom Menance. I also hope that any new aliens in EP3 look alot less like muppets. We have all this technology we can make some really sweet looking creatures. Instead we are supposed to fear muppets. Oh well.

i agree with ya on that THE TITLES DO SOUND BETTER well the Rumor ones anyways. The Phatom Menance wasn't that great of a title. i liked that one though some star wars well a LOT of them didn't i liked it. George Lucas SHOULD pay attention 2 the RUMOR titles an tthen of course deny it if it's not not TRUE but also say 2 himself that sounds pretty good i think i'l use one close 2 it. or something like that.ya know?

Titles are always a trouble. I care more about the content of the film than the title. Phantom Menace is a very good title.
Stimpy see Episode II as soon as you get a chance. It's great.

Rep Power: 0 | How can you not like the title 'Phantom Menace'? It says so much more than 'Balance of the Force'; it has a real sinister edge to it, and makes you ponder who exactly the phantom is. I've grown fond of the 'Attack of the Clones' title too - like 'Empire Strikes Back', it's just straight to the point! :D LOL.
And I guess that even if you don't like the title, a film grows into it, like a person grows into their name.

It's funny -- I've never much liked the titles in the Star Wars series, until I actually saw each film. Then, somehow, instantly, the name fit, and movie and title became one. I hated The Empire Strikes Back when it was first announced, yet since viewing 1 I can't imagine the film with any other name.
Same with AOTC.
With TPM, the poetic yet rather meaningless nature of the title allows it to fit with just about anything. That's the one so far I've had no trouble with at all.
With the next film, the words "Dark" or "Sith" should be involved somehow, I should think. Rise of the Sith, perhaps?
Ideas?

Well, I think something like that would be a good bet, Dave. There seem to be parallels, I think, between the first film titles in each trilogy, and the second two as well - 'A New Hope' is kinda mystic, like 'Phantom', whilst 'Empire' is as blatant as 'Clones'. If we've had 'Return of the Jedi', 'Rise of the Sith' or 'Revenge of the Sith' look like the most obvious choices to follow in its wake - but I'm sure we'll be surprised when it's finally revealed. :)

Just a head's up for those who are not offended by minor spoilers to check out the shooting report on theforce.net. One of Dooku's scenes in Ep III is described in very, very general terms.
