I have just finished this book and it was the best I have read, they are getting better as they go on, so I'm looking forward to the next one.
This book has had me laughing, crying and at times I felt very sorry for Mr. Lee, he had a very hard times in his life.
But I think he has come through it with flying colours, and I hope that things go well for him now.
A very good book Mr. Lee.

There's also a US edition with two new chapters and a lot of new photographs out now. Highly recommended. This book is wonderful to read. I have read it twice. I still remember when I recieved the UK edition for christmas present when it came out. I read it in one gulp almost.

I've been reading it this week, and feel more respect for the person who lives behind Christopher Lee's eyes than ever before. The marvelous thing about this book is that he let us-the readers-come to know him.
There were several sequences that had me on the floor, my favorite being one of his first live TV jobs back in the early fifties. I certainly don't know what I would do if confronted with a sudden'y flatulent fellow actor.
Also, some of the photographs I've never seen anywhere else; including an extremely cute picture of a four-year-old Christopher Lee peering shyly at the camera, and another photo-taken during the filming of "She", Mr. Lee balancing a sword, point first, on his finger, grinning rather manially...
I'm still wondering how he did it, but then I'm not the most coordinated person who ever crossed the pike...

I have a copy of the original edition hardcover, and have been searching for the newer version which has more photos. I truly enjoyed all the history behind the filmmaking, and very much wished the stories could have been longer. (I think the original book could have been twice as long and it would have been twice as captivating!) Yes, the "Prince of...." story on a live television show (if I remember correctly) was hilarious, and had me almost on the floor, and my husband when he read right after me....) The war years were very enlightening, and the mention of the dog Vodka, was like a bright light in dark days. It was a thoroughly enjoyable read, and if there's an extended version planned, I will most certainly be adding it to my library.:)

I managed to track down a 1977 print of Mr Lee's autobiography about 20 years ago, it finishes with him discussing being in the Playboy mansion when Muhammed Ali won his fight. It was great to get the new updated book and catch up with the later years.

The new one will be coming out a few days before my birthday.
I have it on pre-order so I can't wait.
I think that will be the 7th book Mr. Lee has done now.
And soon after volume 2 of the ' The making of a Legend'.
Plus all the new films :D :D its going to be a good end to a good year.
