FM #146, Star Wars and Christopher Lee

Just received an interesting item, an issue of "Famous Monsters of Filmland" from August of 1978. The cover story is STAR WARS: CHRISTOPHER LEE TALKS ABOUT THE MOVIE. In it, Mr. Lee is interviewed about the film, its global impact, his personal opinion of it, etc.

Most intriguing -- I wonder if, at the time of this interview, Mr. Lee had even the slightest notion that one day he would not merely be a contributor to the saga, but create one of its most dynamic and memorable characters?

That would be interesting to know, if Mr.Lee knew something about Dooku that time... but George Lucas never sound like giving his plans to other people so early. I think Mr.Lee must have a special "feeling" for Star Wars because Mr.Cushing acted in it...?

As far as Dooku goes, his role wasn't finalised until quite late. He wasn't going to even be a human character at first - but thank the Force Lucas decided to make him human! Mr. Lee was perfect in the role. I think Dooku was meant to have a Tarkin-like, authoritarian edge, so you can see why Mr. Lee fitted the part so well. :)

It's great to know that Mr. Lee talked about Star Wars all that time ago... some might call it 'fateful'.

Any chance of seeing a scan of that article on here somewhere? Or is there a problem with copyright? I'd love to read it :)
