Well, it seems that there is going to be some Star Wars cartoons made!

20 cartoon shorts are being produced for the Cartoon Network channel, titled 'Clone Wars', which will show events that take place directly after Episode 2 has ended. So far, all I can get the jist of is that we'll have more Anakin, Obi-Wan and Yoda, and their adversery will come in the form of a female Dark Jedi, hired by Dooku as a replacement for Jango (I think), who wields two lightsabres.

All the cartoons will only be about 3 minutes long, and will air at specific times, and it seems that the US will get them before the UK (please say the UK will get them!).

I'm usually skeptical about spin-offs like this - I'm not a fan of the books at all - but this does sound like good fun, and it'll make a change to see the characters in 2-D cartoony style. :) I'll report more if I find more, especially as far as Count Dooku is concerned!

I'm having trouble with the Star Wars website, but I got far enough as this page:

It'd be cool - providing Count Dooku does feature some where, and isn't just a name in these cartoons - if Mr. Lee did do the voice of his character. I know Mr. Lee's time is limited at current, however, so he may not do it, if any of the actors are expected to do their voice overs at all. We'll have to wait and see what happens.

Cartoons sound good...I just hope they're not cheesy, sorta like the Star Trek ones were.

Anything Star Wars to hold me over until the next film is ok by me :D

I see it'll be done by the same people who brought us Samurai Jack and Dexter's Lab - I'm now getting visions of Anakin saying "Obi, what does this button do?" !!!

I'm definately gonna watch it! Please oh Please let Dooku be in it...

Oh no! Dexter! :D:D:D:D:D:D

I love Samurai Jack, that's a great toon and very well drawn. if it's going to be on the same level and Jack then they'll definitely have some viewers in my home.

You will have to let us know what it's like, The USA will get it before us.

I hope it don't take them to long to send it over to England.

It would be great if Mr. Lee provided the voice of his character in the cartoons.
Here is some information that I found (though it doesn't tell us as much as that original article):
LOS ANGELES (Zap2it.com) - "Star Wars Episode III" is still more than
two years off, but fans of the space saga can get a fix of original
material before then.

In a first-of-its-kind arrangement, "Star Wars" swami George Lucas has
agreed to let Cartoon Network produce a series of animated shorts that
will tell the story of events between episodes II and III.

Genndy Tartakovsky ("Samurai Jack," "Dexter's Laboratory") will produce
the shorts, titled "Clone Wars," according to The Hollywood Reporter.
The series of 20 cartoons, each about three minutes long, is scheduled
to debut in November.

"This is a big event in the history of 'Star Wars,' " says Howard
Roffman, president of Lucas Licensing. "It's the first time George Lucas
has allowed the stories to be told through television."

Yes, but will it be like the films?

I was watching the stargate cartoon and it is nothing like the TV shows.
I like stargate, but the cartoon, well I don't think much to it.

That has happen to a lot of things that have move on to cartoons.

Well I just hope they don't mess it up.

I am not entirely sure this is a good idea. I saw an episode of The Mummy cartoon and I did not like it.

Also, why are the cartoons only three minutes long?
