My husband recently found a film on eBay for us, Funnyman. It's in the mail to us now. We couldn't find it anywhere in Canada, but have seen it listed with places like Movies Unlimited. (The eBay copy only cost us $5 plus shipping anmd handling.) Everything about this movie with Mr. Lee sounds intriguing. I was just wondering if anyone has seen this movie and can they tell me a bit about it? The cover picture of the jester looks quite menacing. The story apparently has to do with someone winning a castle in a poker game. I just hope it's not too gory, though!

If only you had asked prior to ordering ........ Funnyman is DREADFUL ....... easily one of Christopher Lees worst . The premise may have sounded good on paper but the end product is embarresing . Mr Lee ( thankfully ) manages to remain almost regal amongst the dire goings on and , I'm afraid , it is rather gory .
Still that's just my thoughts .

I just went to read some Imdb reviews on the film and the impression goes either way. Some loved it, others took it as an attempt to create a British flavour Freddy Krueger. One person described it as Monty Python meets Hammer Films, and I think they said that was also a description on the video sleeve. I'm looking forward to seeing it, as it sounds like an unusual concept. Someone also mentioned that Mr. Lees sings a portion of the song at the end credits.

I also have the dvd of it i'm not sure if your's has a film strip in it but mine does. it's a film strip of a part of the movie. anyways i loved it yes it's in a way cheesy and yes it's not one of his best films. but the enemy THE FUNNYMAN is funny as hell u end up well least i did anyways rooting for him in the end cause the characters that are killed of in the movie are so bloody annoying.
the killings are creative i think. i'm not sure about anyone else but i liked it. i was expecting it to be bad but again i was surprised to quite enjoy it. confusing ending though least to me it was.
