Although I've had this disc for a while now , I just got round to watching it . As I'd remembered the films themselves were excellent but what was astonishing was the quality of the prints .
The colours are so vibrant and the splendid visuals are enhanced by the kind of cinematography that we rarely see these days.
Both films co-star Hazel Court and I don't think she's looked better ( especially through Nic Roeg's lense )
Roger Corman provides a couple of mini-docs on each and both trailers are supplied .
All this for $9.99 ............ AMAZING .........I realise I'm beginning to sound like a salesman for the midnitemovies collection but I can't help it............ they don't make them like this anymore .

I agree with you who heartdeadly i spelled that wrong by the way. but i agree with you they don't make films like that anymore.
Masque of red death is not one of my favorite films of the Poe era that would be The Pit and the pendulam. but it's not bad and vincent price give one of his best performances of many. an as for the Premature Burial although Vincent Price as to star in it originally now that i've seen Ray Milland in the role a few times i have the dvd myself and watch it once in a while. i can't see Vincent Price in the role cause Ray Milland gives such a splended performace in it and one would wonder how it would look if V. Price did star in it.

Another one I need to get, Matt!

2,500+ movies in my collection, and you can manage to bring up titles I don't have yet!

My poor credit card...

MASQUE has always been a favorite; Price at his most menacing. And I've always relished the fact they managed to insert a second Poe story (Hop Frog) so seemlessly into the film.

I'm sorry to say, however, THE PREMATURE BURIAL is the one Corman-Poe effort I have yet to see. I've heard it's excellent; and I know Ray Milland and Hazel Court are always good - so it's one I still look foward to.
