I wondered if anyone else dug the extras on the special edition version of the DVD. I wanted all the bells and whistles of the SE DVD and have only touched on them. My daughter was the one who told me about Mr. Lee and the stairs segment. I saw it over the weekend and died at the part with Mr. Lee negotiating the stairs with the robe. I could understand his frustration.
Being a fan of the trilogy and The Hobbit for a number of years, it was very insightful to see how Peter Jackson created his version of Middle-earth. Hard to believe someone could conjure up something so close to what I envisioned. Who would have thought that the same guy who brought us Bad Taste and Dead Alive could bring this undertaking to reality. Nothing against the previously mentioned films, I enjoyed them considerably, but this series is on another plane.
:bounce:
Plus the concept art of Alan Lee and interviews with Mr. Lee and cast... I need a whole weekend free to enjoy it.
