A little plug for one of my all time favourite movies.

A delicious little horror film that offered something different, a little bit out of the norm. The atmosphere is terrific and, strange as it may seem, I think the dubbing of the european actors adds to the whole flavour of the film!

Mr Lee gets a rare chance to play the hero, almost a romantic type figure and Peter Cushing has a cheeky twinkle in his eye throughout the whole proceedings. This is remarkable considering he was still under the strain of his wifes death.

The Lee/Cushing double act has rarely been better than this. Two pros who could do this stuff with their eyes closed and still dominate a picture.

Horror Express is a lot of fun.

It is true that when Mr. Cushing and Mr. Lee played together in a film something magical always seem to happen. I wish they had made more film together.

Horror Express a very good and enjoyable film. Those who have not seen it yet, I am sure you would enjoy it.

Check the reviews for what the movie is about.

I totally agree. My husband and I have always loved this film. Mr. Lee and Cushing as a team were interesting and almost instinctively played their roles with/against each other. We have always found Mr. Cushing's brain surgery scenes (usually using a saw with precision and dexterity) to be finely acted; but if there had been any more gore, perhaps we wouldn't have found it so entertaining. We'd say to each other, "There goes Peter, doing his brain surgery again!" I know this may sound humorous, but he does this surgery in the Curse of Frankenstein, and also other films like The Creeping Flesh, I believe. But about Horror Express, Mr. Lee (as Saxton) is the perfect skeptic to Mr. Cushing's scientific approach to learning more about the ghoulish red-eyed monster. We plan to watch this again shortly. And Telly Savalas was quite outlandish.

We don't have a DVD player. All the films we have are VHS, some store-bought, other movies we taped from TV. The Horror Express video is a slow speed one, but good quality.

Couldn't agree more. Watched it just last night; as it had been a while. The first glimpse of that red eye glowing from inside the crate is still creepy after many viewings.

And as I was scraping the ice from my car windows this morning, I found myself wishing I had Mr. Lee's hat from the opening scene. Is that a beauty or what?

I've watched Horror Express once, and adored it! The story may be a little bizarre, but there's something so charming about the film - and Saxton is such a wonderful character for Mr.Lee to play! Plus, he at least gets a bit of a love interest this time! :P

Mr. Saxton as anthropoligist is certainly all anthropologist in Horror Express, and even though he doesn't fall in love exactly, he is charming with, if I remember, the young Countess also on board the train. The pressbook about Horror Express stated Mr. Lee referred to the new actress, in effect, as someone with "a rare talent like a burst of fireworks coming into the acting profession." (Something like that, anyway.)

Here in the United States, there are a couple of companies puting out a HORROR EXPRESS DVD. However, only one of them has, as an extra option, the film in it's original Spanish. Does anyone know which version it is that has the Spanish language track?

None of the box covers that I've seen give any indication . I'd hate to plop down my money only to have to go back to the store because my "roll of the dice" came up craps.

You'll want the IMAGE version; in both English or Spanish.

Avoid the one from SIMITAR; it's only in English and the transfer isn't supposed to be great.

I have this one, and it only comes in English.
So don't get this one.
