Viva la Wonderfest!
Okay, this is where my supreme geekiness rears its ugly head.
I thought all of those Caroline Munro fans in the Midwest may want to know that she will be one of the featured guests at Louisville's Wonderfest this year during the weekend of June 7-8.
That Saturday night will also be a showing of Golden Voyages of Sinbad with Munro.
Also, Ray Harryhausen will be at the convention and will introduce a theater showing of 7th Voyage of Sinbad that night as well (in one of Louisville's best movie houses).
Usually Wonderfest guests also hold talks and take questions along with autograph sessions and the usual fair.
In the past Wonderfest has had George Romero, Joe Dante, Tom Savini, Berni Wrightson, Ann Robinson and Sara Karloff amongst others as guests. It's a well-organized affair, easy to get to (right next to the airport) and just plain fun. Oh, and the dealers usually have decently priced horror and sci-fi memorabilia too.
Here's the link: http://www.wonderfest.com
And, no, I don't work for them or anything like that. I'm just attending.

It looks like great fun and very similar to the Memorabilia event that we have in Britain .
I'm sure everyone who attends will thouroughly enjoy themselves . Ray is a very nice guy ( extremely down to earth ) and Caroline is........well , Caroline ;)
Have a super day and post photos .

Yes, indeed, Harryhausen's a wonderful man...met him at a press screening of Sinbad & the Eye of the Tiger in San Francisco a couple decades ago. Very friendly and warm.

Well, Louisville doesn't do this State-side individual much good, but perhaps some fine day they'll hold one of these in California. I remember back when horror/fantasy cons were very regular in this part of the world, but these days they seem to have died out. :(

Speaking of Caroline Monroe...

There is a show called Kitbuilders in Hillside, IL at the Holiday Inn. It is the weekend of May 3rd & 4th, 2003. From my understanding, Caroline Monroe is going to attend. She has been at this show in the past called Rez'n Hedz, mainly resin models and related items. Ms. Monroe is a pleasure to meet and talk to, and well...

:naughty:

At the show I went to she was next to John Phillip Law.

The same weekend by O'hare Airport is the Ray Court Hollywood Memoribilia Show. Dave, they are having one in CA on January 18/19, you can check out the site here www.hollywoodcollectorshow.com.

I might just need to check out both shows.

:1devil:

Have fun collecting.

I'm especially looking forward to Ray Harryhausen's talk and screening. Clash of the Titans was one of my all-time favorite movies as a kid. I bet I saw it nearly 100 times.
It's quite a ways away yet but I'll post pictures.

I know you will have a great time when you go there.

I am looking forward to your post about it.

I met Ray Harryhausen at the Monster rally in 1999, and let me tell you it was quite amazing to listen to the man and see "in the flesh" some of his creations right there in front of me.
He had with him for the presentation The skeleton from the 7th voyage of Sindbad, the medusa from "Clash of the titans" and one of the prehistoric creatures from "one million years BC"

they were absolutely wonderful to look at, and it was like meeting some of my childhood hero's, i was (and still is) such a big fan of Ray Harryhausen's movies when i was growing up!!

While Caroline was in New York earlier this month for the Fangoria convention she also contributed a commentary and/or video interview for Media Blasters upcoming Region 1 release of Jess Franco's Faceless. So, that's something forward too.
