Mr. Lee has said that he would not be able to do a full production of a Shakespeare play on the stage, but he could possibly do one for television or as a feature film.

Which Shakespeare character would you most like Mr. Lee to play? Please post additional characters if you aren't happy with the ones listed!

I agree, Lear all the way.

I voted for King Lear . Mr Lee mentioned at the private signing that numerous people have mentioned this to him recently and that Gary Oldman was thinking of doing a film on Lear . It would be great if Mr Lee were to play the part .

I won't pretend to be terribly well-informed on anything Shakespeare (the closest I get is Theatre of Blood :)), but from what I know of King Lear, that's where my vote goes as well. Mr. Lee would be ideal.

Actually, either Lear or Prospero would be a gem of a role for Mr. Lee.

So would Caliban, but, I fear that would be a younger man's role.

i could never get into shakespeare myself. earlyier Theatre of blood was mentioned and if they ever decide to remake it sometime in the future Mr. Lee would be perfect in the C. Lee role or even perhaps as one of the critics that get killed as for King Lear i never saw it so I can't say much for that. but theatre of blood is also the closest that i ever got to shakespeare

If Mr Lee would do a production of "Twelve Night" either I hope he would play Malvolio or Baron Pale Nose in the same play.

Oh, we're bred on Shakespeare at school! That doesn't mean I know about all the plays, however...

I saw a production of 'King Lear' recently with Timothy West as Lear, and, though I haven't read the play before, I followed most of it and quite enjoyed it - though it was horrific when they poked Gloustaer's eyes out... It was quite amusing to see, in between acts, people rushing onto the stage to clean off the blood ready for the next scene! A gory play. But Mr. Lee would make a fine Lear.

I actually reckon he may make a good Shylock in 'The Merchant of Venice' - it's an unusual role, of which I've only seen Laurence Olivier play in a film version. I think he may be able to bring a certain edge to that one, though I'm no fan of that play.

I can't comment on the roles from The Tempest, Henry IV or Twelfth Night because I've never seen or read them! But I've had as good a say as I can!

Actually, Mr. Lee might make an intimidating Ghost in 'Hamlet', too, when Hamlet sees the apparition of his murdered father talk to him...great play, that one, if not the one with the biggest on-stage body count by the end of it! :D

He would make a perfect Prospero! I have always dreamt that Mr. Lee will one day play him.
I think it is a great idea that Mr. Lee act in a Shakespeare movie. It may get him the knighthood he so strongly deserves.
