This battle has gone on for too long and in the process I even learned to speak Pakistani, finally some good news.
As from tomorrow, we will have limited copies of Jinnah:The Movie for sale at the site. The format is VCD with is compatible with most DVD players regardless of region. The quality is the same as a VHS NTSC video tape. Essentially, this is the Pakistani full theatrical release of the movie without subtitles and in the English language. The set has 2 CDs.
The first 100 orders will be signed by Mr Lee and will be shipped on the 8th of January on a first come, first served basis. Please don't ask if yours will be signed, these should go in the first 30 minutes of them being available. Premium members have a different deal, so please check that area.
These copies are perfectly legal and will retail for $18.99 each. However, don't expect to see them on Amazon as it has no age classification. At this time, there are no plans for a DVD release of this movie, due to distribution restrictments and various problems which do not concern us. I am not saying it is imposible but it won't be too soon. The main thing is that it is out at last.
Haven't seen Mr Lee's best movie? You can own it now. :)

Sylvain, you are a premium member. You should use the collector's vault.
But to answer your questions, yes it will also be available at the normal store and yes you can use PayPal.
I'm just waiting for confirmation on the shipping and the maximum number they can supply. I'll try ringing in a couple of hours and after I get the ok, they'll be ready for sale.
Shame it is almost imposible to get a theatrical release in LA, otherwise it would stand a good chance of a nomination.

Pakistanis just changed their minds again, I think I'll better let Mr Lee give them a call. They now have agreed to transfer it to DVD but it looks like we will have problems with the quantities.
Sorry to mess you around, no point in offering VCD if it is going to be available on DVD. I'll put them up once I receive confirmation.

I've watched this film twice, coutesy of Sky Movies, and agree that it is one of Mr.Lee's finest performances - it's well worth watching at least twice so that all of the information it's conveying sinks in.
The first thing about it that hit me was how much concerning Pakistan I'd never known before! It's a very good film for telling us about a very important, yet hardly heard-of event - the formation of a nation. After waiting so long for some kind of release, I'm sure most people aren't going to be fussed about waiting a little longer for a DVD release.

As I said on another thread here, I just saw Jinnah for the first time the other day, thanks to some Pakistani students of mine. You have not seen Christopher Lee until you've seen Jinnah. I can't wait to get get a copy of my own.

I was just talking to Mr Lee again about the DVD. He has agreed that we try and buy the distribution rights instead. If we succeed, and I have no doubts, then the DVD will be given a full treatment.
Plans are also on the way to release "Nothing but the Night" and "A Feast at Midnight" which are also among the best films Mr Lee has been in. The strange thing, he doesn't play "the villain" in any.

That's good news . It's about time Jinnah was released properly . It must be very frustrating for Mr Lee knowing how much he put in to the production , not to have it seen by a wider audience................not for long though .:)

With imminent releases of JINNAH, A FEAST AT MIDNIGHT, and NOTHING BUT THE NIGHT, it's going to be a feast for Christopher Lee fans.:)
