I started one but have no clue if I'll have the time to finish it or not. I certainly hope I can.

Took a look at your website, RogueJedi. I liked the painting of John De Lancie as Q. He is also a favorite of mine. Wonderful actor!

Klaudija | I've met him twice now and he's quite a guy. The convention that I had this signed at was packed full of people and que for autographs was huge and moving very slowly since they had three actors at the same table.
John had to catch a flight and his time was quickly running out, so instead of leaving with all these people still in line. He got out of his seat and walked the line signing everyone's items as they stood waiting. Very courteous and kind.

Wow, thank you so much for your comment. I have visited your drawings and immediately felt intimidated by your talents :-). You're quite the artist and so prolific as well. Since I had my daughter, I find the time to draw so scarce that it's hard for me to complete much anymore.
keep up the good work yourself,

I sent a few of my drawings to Juan to put on the site.
I had the hardest time getting my drawings to look like Mr. Lee, they kept turning out to look like Vincent Price

There's no harm in trying! I've been inspired by LotR:TT to draw a picture of Saruman, but having been at school all day, I haven't really been able to start it. I'm itching to get home to draw it! I can see it in my head - I need to transfer it to paper! If it turns out OK, I'll enter that too.

Old Soul, you're far braver than I am, using charcoal. I make the worst messes with it. Almost more deadly to me than paint. I much prefer scratchboard, pencil and pen. Hats off to anyone who can work with charcoal! You've way more guts than I do.

I did get my drawings to look closer to looking more human when I threw away my pencil and started to use charcoal and a smug stump to draw. I never used charcoal before, and I kind of enjoyed working with it.
Old Soul | Old Soul,
It's funny but when I try to use charcoal, I come out with a big ol' blob that looks nothing like anything. I get so discouraged with it. I use pencils in many varying hardnesses but mostly I take a blank piece of paper and scribble a big splotch on it and then use the "smudge stumps" in that splotch and then use those to do my drawings. I tend to use my fingers quite a bit too...
but charcoal...sheesh...that just does not work at all for me. More power to you and all of you who can do it with charcoal.

Actually I found it to act like a kind of erasable paint. I drew some heavy lines, for the hair, for example then I used the smug stump to flow it the way I wanted to go. Also I used the stump for shading on the face and around the eyes. If I made a mistake or it was to heavy I used an eraser to lighten it up. The eraser came with the charcoal, is looks and feels like clay, but it did remove the charcoal nicely

There are some quite amazing drawings in the art gallery now, I'm impressed by the never ending talent on this site, from artists to story tellers, and quiz masters to review/article writers. Well done everybody and good luck in the comp, it is not going to be easy.
Old Soul, I've been looking forward for some time to see your piece of artwork.:)
