For those who may have missed it. Reviewing the events of 2002 in the Miami Herald, humorist Dave Barry wrote the following:

MAY
...the big news is the release of the fifth installment in the Star Wars series, "Star Wars II," which continues to express creator/director George Lucas' artistic vision, summed up by the statement: "I don't understand Roman numerals." The movie seems to be an effort by Lucas to connect with younger audiences, as evidenced by the exciting action scene in which Anakin Skywalker battles the evil Count Dooku in a deadly high-stakes game of quidditch...."

Erm... well, went over my head as far as humour is concerned! :P Quidditch? How'd you get that connection? I know it's a joke, but what is the connection between a lightsabre duel and Quidditch?

Heh - I'll shut up now...

Alfonso,

If I remember correctly, it's a reference to the Harry Potter films. I think it's a game that was played in the movie where all the "witch kids" fly around on broomsticks and chase a golden ball with wings. Quite interesting, and quite off the wall.

Quite right, it is from Harry Potter. And available as a board game as well. Whether or not there's a reasonable connection to light sabre duels or not is not for me to say. I make no attempt to explain Mr. Barry, I just passed him on.

The reason I asked is becasue I've heard the same name used for a 'Fraternity Game' where. . . well. . . you don't want to know.
