Do you have a favorite Christopher Lee film that you think is good to watch while spending a weekend afternoon at home? I have two favorites and they are The Hound of the Baskervilles and The Devil Rides Out. They are suspenseful and make you feel as if you are cozy and safe at home next to the fire!

You know, I would have a Saturday afternoon movie to watch today... except that the only regional BBC1 not showing Horror Express last night was the one I get. Wouldn't you know it. :)

I have the DVD and was very disappointed that it was in B&W (for some strange reason). Then it showed on BBC1 last night in colour. I thought it was much better, much more astmospheric.

PS. The Creeping Flesh is on next week as well. I have not seen that in a long time. Looking forward to it.

Christina, I don't know which dvd you have from Horror Express.
Too my knowledge there are 2 versions on dvd.

I have both versions in my collection and they are both color.
Allthough the one from Image Entertainment is the one to go for.
Much better image quality.

The problem might be the t.v. who is having problems with the Ntsc signal which will give a black & white image on the screen.

I also have this film on DVD and it's in colour, it's from the U.S. and the cover is different to the two you showed Jacob.

Gremlins II has always been a longtime favorite, not just for a weekend afternoon - but anytime there's nothing on T.V.
New current favorite is The Return of Captain Invincible. I purchased the film after listening to Mr. Lee sing " Name Your Poison " on this website. Mr. Lee sings and dances !!! As always Mr. Lee is Wonderful.

Thanks for having this website

Jacob,

I've heard that one of those two editions contains the original Spanish language version as an optional track. Is this true? Because I'd love to pick it up if it does.

The DVD we have is definetly in black and white. I prefer this version over the colour one but that's a matter of personal taste. I don't like classics on DVD, that's me.

Our copy was released by Alpha Video.

Christina should have asked me, because I also have 3 more in colour.

Alfonso, the best of the best is the Spanish VHS release. I don't have it but a friend lend it to me a while ago, it's a different film in terms of atmosphere and viewing pleasure. I am sure Mr Lee also has one somewhere but to find it, it's another story. His film collection is so disorganised, he doesn't even know where to look.

I was looking forward to it! It's not one I'd seen. Alas, BBC1 Ulster was showing a different movie... it's a bit odd, they seem to be the only BBC1 region that didn't show it.

I noticed that, too - although I fear BBC Ulster will yet again disappoint. I'll keep my eyes out, though.

Personally, I think any of the Cushing-Lee team-ups is superb weekend afternoon entertainment. Particularly on a rainy day.

I feel this way too. My weekends now is my time to do shopping and house work that needs to be done..........but after, I like siting in my big chair, and watch one of my favorite Cl/PC movies.

I have several favorites, so it depends on the mood I'm in which one I will watch.

Yes, this is true.
This track is on the Image Entertainment release from Horror Express.

R1, so you should be able to get it in a local store, or otherwise online.

As Sunday is more of a traditional family day,my choice for a Christopher Lee Sunday treat would be Arabian Adventure. This is a great watch when its cold outside and the fire is roaring inside!Plus,of course,Peter Cushing appears in a cameo.

As regards Horror Express, this is my favourite CL/PC collaboration. It was also the first Christopher Lee movie I ever saw.

Creeping Flesh on BBC next week too, we are honoured indeed!Does anyone else remember the days when BBC2 would have their Saturday night Horror Double Bill?

They would usually have a B&W Karloff/Lugosi feature first followed by a colour 60's or 70's movie afterwards. Great days indeed...

I remember though, Frankenstien Must be Destroyed seemed to be on every other week!
