I am so glad I've got FilmFour who are showing A Feast at Midnight on 15/11.

I don't think I've ever seen it, I can't really remember every film I watched when I was younger!

What are people's opinions on this film?

Hmm, talking of feasts, I'm starting to get hungry...

A Feast At Midnight is a gem of a film . I watched it recently for the first time in years and thought it was one of the best non genre roles for Christopher Lee.......highly recommended .

Since, you live in the UK, Michelle. This movie is available on vhs in the UK.
It shouldn't cost that much.

Great movie indeed. :)

You will love this film. I have a copy which I see at least every couple of months. It is a very sweet and gentle film, very funny and very well acted.

The bad news is Jacob, I only buy DVD's now. In fact, I think I'm turning into a DVD addict!!

I'm going to have to record it off the TV anyway because it's on before I get home from work. So technically I will have it on VHS.

Having said that, it is very likely that the VHS player may force the DVD player into a couple of weeks of non-use!!
That is until I get the AOTC DVD.

Old Soul

You never know Old Souly, I might just write a review.
(Warning: It will probably be longer than longer than long, as nearly everything I write is an epic!)

A review, that would be very nice.

I love reading them, as well as writing them. A fresh idea from some new is always welcomed.

Chaos Mage is an unknown quantity at this point
"A Feast At Midnight" was the most recent addition to my Christopher Lee collection. I won it in an ebay auction, but unfortunately I didn't pay close enough attention to what I was bidding on, so I ended up with a PAL tape.

So far I have only been able to see it once, because a friend of mine had access to a VCR that would play it, but I don't regret the purchase. It is a great movie, and it was even better than I expected it to be.

I don't think I'll ever be able to forget the word "pawang" as long as I live. That had me laughing so hard. I suppose it is the British equivalent of "schwing!"

Gotta say that "Feast at Midnight" is one of my favourite C.L. films. I watched it completely by accident on sky a couple of years ago. Was delighted to see C.L. doing a friendly bit of comedy. He suits it well (as he does everything). Particularly like the Jurassic Park "Raptor" sequence with the kitchen.

It was soooo funny!!! :1roll:
(but it took some time to actually see it!)

To cut a long story short, DISASTER with the video recorder!
Other Half, who I trusted with the important task of setting
the timer, actually put it on the wrong channel! Aaarrgh!!
I can tell you, murder was nearly committed in the house when all I got was a blank screen!!

So, I had to go against my DVD addiction and order it on VHS. I thought it would take ages, but I got it yesterday. It was worth it!
Actually thinking about it is making me smile! It was the most fantastic British comedy film I have seen in ages and Mr Lee sending up his image was priceless!

And the fact that I am very partial to foods of the sweet variety it had me raiding the biscuit tin (huge home made chocolate biscuits are the best!) Not very good for the diet, but I don't care!

I will have to watch it a few more times before I contemplate a review, but I think there is one waiting to spring forth from the recesses of my brain somewhere.

The worrying thing was that I 'got' all the innuendo's, which just highlights the type of mind that I have. *chuckle* *chuckle*
