There is a website calling itself the official website to a live action film version of The Last Unicorn. The website says the Christopher Lee is attached to this film to play the same role he voiced in the cartoon of the same name from the eighties. I can't help but doubt the credability to this site. something just doesn't smell right, and I would like to know if there is any official word on wether or not Lee will actualy be doing this film in the near future. here is a link to the website

To clear up any confusion, this will be a LIVE action film, not another animation film.

Nice cast already set. Costumes designed. CGI in progress on effects shots.

Mr. Lee makes history in this film! I can find no other record of anyone doing the voice-over for an animated major motion picture appearing in the same role in a live action remake of that film. It will be a first.

If I recall correctly I believe they are getting Angela Lansbury to play the role of Mommy Fortuna as well. I'm all excited about that film myself. Can't wait to find out more...

I too can't wait for the live action of the Last Unicorn , but I was wondering will he do the film after ROTK from the LOTR or will he do it alittle bit before ROTK in 2003 say in October of 2003 .

What I wonder about is if there will be singing involved in the life action like there was on the cartoon version
Alos if the songs will be the same.
I do enjoy music in it so I'd love to know if they'll keep that.

I'm eagerly awaiting the release of The Last Unicorn. I have a feeling it may out-do "Harry Potter."

It was and always has been my favourite childhood movie.
I love unicorns because of it even more.
I wonder if they can get a woman to match the appearance of the drawing though, that'll be an interesting challenge.

If there was going to be some singing , I sure Mr. Lee could sing them . I have a feeling toothat it may out do Harry Potter too , and I'll even bet that Mr. Lee was even surprised that they asked him to reprise his role as Knig Haggard , in a Live action feature film .

Best Wishes ,

Amy Maloney :) ;)

I'm really looking forward to the movie, I loved the book as a child and the other movie was OK but didn't do the book justice. Hopefully the live action one will be better.

I had no clue there was a book available. At least I've never seen it I'd love to read it to my children someday.

The book is by Peter S. Beagle. It is a chaptered fantasy book, like The Hobbit. It's been years since I read it and you may want to read it first before reading it to your kids (I don't know how old they are... I do remember there being sad parts).

Anyhow here's a link on Amazon. Your local library may have it as well.

I tried finding the movie on upcomingmovies.com but didn't see it there, I was surprised. Did I miss it, or is it not there yet? The unicorn test on the Last Unicorn site was REALLY well done. I work with 3D artists and so I am really impressed by good 3D.
