Just saw this for the first time a couple of days ago. It's a fascinating, sweet, charming interview with Mr. Cushing, taped sometime in the mid to late eighties, I believe. It's about 90 minutes long, and contains dozens of rare clips from his very early, pre-Hammer work.

Highly recommended.

Last nite I dreamt that I walking through a 'cuckoos nest' of shops (you the know the type, secondhand clothes, records, old toys etc) I walked into the typical type of Sci-fi collectables and the guy behind the counter was 'Peter Cushing' it was on my lips to say 'I thought you were' and he interupted 'Yes I know, but don't tell too many'. He told me he was restless and wanted to do something with his excessive spare time, what better way than to sell horror and sci-fi memorabilia. His current selection contain quite a number of 'Attack of the Clones' and 'LOTR'!

I don't know why I had this dream......I've never dreamt of him before, the last I watched of him was around Xmas 2001.

The dream was so vivid, he talked to me as though he knew me! and related to his past and added 'he was waiting for an old friend to find him & buy something'! he didn't say who!

It's a long time since I felt that comfortable being with someone,
I left him sitting behind the counter sipping a cup of something! tea perhaps!

I feel I've not slept at all!

Regards

H.John

That sounds like an incredible dream, especially since you remember it so vividly.

I have had 2 recent dreams where Mr.Lee has been one of my teachers (I'm currently in the 6th form at college). Once he was my history teacher, and the second time he was my english teacher, and both times I've been left toward the end of the dream thinking 'wow, CL's been my teacher' and wondering why I never bothered to get his autograph! LOL :P But in parts of the dream where he was teaching me and my friends, there seemed nothing special about it! Heh. :) It was the norm.

I'm not huge believing that dreams mean alot, but they do make you think. Yours sounds particularly intriguing, though!

He's been mine on quite a few occasions. And I'm a professional.

In fact, if it weren't for Mr. Lee's movies, I probably wouldn't be in my present profession. His films inspired me to read and learn from an early age.

One Way Ticket to Hollywood is a wonderful and moving documentary. You feel as though you are really getting to know Mr. Cushing for the gentle and loving man he was.

Dave, did your edition come with the extra footage of Mr. Cushing's This is Your Life episode?

No! Didn't know there was such an edition, Alfonso. Is it available, to your knowledge?

Now that director William Lustig has gone and created his own DVD company (BLUE_UNDERGROUND), I wonder if there is anyone over at ANCHOR BAY who would care to research getting the Cushing ONE WAY TICKET TO HOLLYWOOD onto
DVD .

I'm no quite sure. I've never seen it on eBay. I picked it up at a local video store that specializes in Horror/SF/Fantasy. As a matter of fact, it's almost like a video "easter egg" in that there's nothing on the cover art telling you that it's there. Just when the the video runs a few seconds after the end of One Way Ticket to Hollywood. . . surprise!

Try letting the version you have run a little over before rewinding. Who knows?

It's been said that when you dream of the deceiced, its their way of comunicating with us.
I strongly belive this to be true myself, because I've dreamt many strange things in my time that I learned a great deal from.
I've even dreamt of a pet returning to me just to let me know it still thinks of us the same way we think about it...
It is a comforting thing to know that out loved ones are still watching over us and hence I think it's important never to let go of our dreams...
Nothing should be impossible and once we believe a lot can come true....Thank you for sharing this ecpierence HJohnBlount...I found it truly touching

Mr Cushing would have beieved in dreams- as they are oft thought to be messages from Angels...

and a message from a loved one , even a pet, is truly an angelic thing , dont you think?

Yes it is amazing although angels are so hard to encounter I always thought I was not a good enough person to ever see one but I actually dreamt I have a guardian angel. Suppossably everyone in the world has one but they don't always make themselfes known to us. I prayed before I went to sleep the night I dreamt of mine...It was really beautyful...

Well, these old Hammer films re-enforced my faith in the forces of Good over Evil...
