I haven't seen this film yet - definately worth getting?

I have, however, done the typical SW fan thing, and pre-ordered my copy of AOTC from Play.com on DVD! It's a great, and very reasonable site - and it just comforts me to know I have secured my copy! :D

"THE REVENGE OF FRANKENSTEIN" is definately a great creature feature. While Peter Cushing returns as Dr. Frankenstein (who is sometimes called Dr Frank or Dr. Stein in this film), Christopher Lee is not in this followup to "CURSE OF FRANKENSTEIN". Mr. Cushing is the only C.O.F. castmember who returns for R.O.F. as far as I know.

Jimmy Sangster, who wrote the C.O.F. script, also wrote R.O.F. but with assistance from Hurford James and uncredited contributions from George Baxt. While the script and story is really quite good and Terence Fisher well directed Hammer is always great entertainment, I can not tell you how much I wish they could have included Mr. Lee in this film in some role. But, still a very highly recommended Hammer film. To my thinking it is one of Mr. Cushing's better films without his favorite co-star, Christopher Lee.

The region 1 DVD widescreen version reportedly will be released on August 13th, which appears to be a wee bit ahead of region 2. List is $19.95. Amazon price is $14.96.

Thanks to the Film Gods for preserving all these great movies.

got it, watched it , adored it.
this is the best print of this film i have ever seen so far.
Highly recommanded, not a lot of extras, but definitely a "must buy".

I just saw the new DVD of Revenge of Frankenstein tonight. Definitely a "no frills" presentation. Still, it's probably the best quality audio and video we'e ever likely to see. It was a treat being able to finally really appreaciate those rich, luxurious colors the early Hammer horrors were noted for.
