Back in the early Spring we first heard about the new book LIPS OF BLOOD: : An Illustrated Guide to Hammer's Dracula Movies Starring Christopher Lee. Now Amazon says it is finally taking orders for the book to ship later THIS MONTH. The book is selling there for $12.59 with a $17.99 list.
This is author's JOHN JEWEL'S first book but the man with co-author credit has a bit more experience. It is Mr. Lee himself.
The review on Amazon says:
[i]A stunning visual tribute to Christopher Lee's magnetic, archetypal incarnation of the vampire Count in his seven stylish films. There's also material on the rise of Hammer Films as well as Lee's other
Dracula films:

I like the sound of this book . Such an examination is long overdue and I only hope the book can do the topic justice .

When you will go the page at THIS AMAZON LINK I think you'll agree it does appear Amazon either truly believes Mr. Lee is a co-author, or they want everyone else to believe so.
Juan, you might want to click on the correction link near the bottom of the page and tell Amazon about it. I think perhaps it is likely to be a marketing ploy from the publisher or by Amazon. People would be far more inclined to purchase a book if Mr. Lee was actually involved in the project somehow, even if he only wrote a brief introduction.
When I click on the correction link from the item page after logging in, and then when I click on author, it actually lists both Mr. Jewel and Mr. Lee as authors.
I'll leave actually making the correction up to you since they'll probably take your report far more seriously than mine.
I'm happy to have brought this error to your attention so you can get it corrected. You are welcome.

Amazon is not the only site to list Mr Lee as an author incorrectly. There is an old thread dedicated to this book somewhere. http://search.barnesandnoble.com/booksearc...isbn=1902588096
Acording to this, it's shipping now.

One could postulate that the bad information is coming from the publisher since both Amazon and B&N say the same thing!

It's the same when Amazon lists the Audio CDs and Cassettes of the "lost" DR WHO soundtracks - often listing William Hartnell, Patrick Troughton as Authors......

Will the confusion ever end?
As of August 2nd I still couldn't order it in (I work at B&N). There are not many copies on order for the stores but I have no information on the bn.com happenings (yet). Other than over the internet this will not be an easy book to find. I think I ordered it about ten times and had my order rejected each time with "no publication date set" although the database listed it as May 1st.
I think the "mistake" over Mr. Lee being a "co-author" is marketing. It's in the B&N database used in the stores as well. It comes up when you type "Christopher Lee" in a keyword search. But so does a Cinderella book but I didn't want to investigate that one. . . .

Finally got the book in.
I was really disappointed. Each Dracula film has a (roughly) two-page synopsis. There are pictures galore but I've seen almost all of them anyway.

Thanks for saving me the bucks. I'll spend them on a good DVD instead! Lots of stuff to buy soon like AOTC and the Hounds of the Baskervilles! Crossing LIPS OF BLOOD off of my wish list right now!

Yes, iut is a disappointing book-I flipped through it at the VIRGIN MEGASTORE in Times Square ,NY...
all old pictures, which if you dont have them elsewhere ,are worth getting, but otherwise.........
by the way , B&N,AMZON,CDNOW and others-all get their information from one source (I know ,as I used to sell them videos)-if that source is wrong, then all the others will be wrong too-
& it is not always malice or for sales-- sometimes people inputting the information misread the copy they are sent--
or input what they are sent, thinking it is true...

The money could be better spent on LITTLE SHOPPE OF HORRORS,DARK TERRORS , or books like HAMMER FILMS: AN EXHAUSTIVE HISTORY , THE HAMMER STORY, or A HISTORY OF HORRORS....
